Fettled CZ HMR

As many know I have a CZ HMR, brought back in the summer and since then I have had some great shooting and success, rabbits, crows and the odd fox have appreciated its accuracy. It came new screw cut and 16†barrel and I matched it with a harris bipod, Sak moderator and a Nikko Sterling Nighteater 6-23X56 IR on top.

But I was not 100% happy so I have fitted the Brookes Trigger Kit and with a little help from Sussex Lad fully floated the barrel, it was touching on the right side as many CZ’s seem to.

The result, well I am very pleased indeed, this is a 5 shot group from this afternoon, range 75m as confirmed by a range finder. The barrel had been bore snaked before I started shooting, I ran 3 shots through it on an old target and then settled down prone to do a 5 shot group, this is the result:

The trigger is very sweet now and the floating seems to have worked a treat.

OK, it is not a huge range but it goes to show the CZ is a great tool and very capable in deed. For info ammo used was Remington 17gr ballistic tip, think I will be sticking with them!

Nice grouping, what could you achieve before the barrel was floated?

At least twice that but would get a flier most of the time, even on a 5 shot group.

So the combination of the floating and sweet trigger has resulted in a somethinf I feel very comfortable with.

Still early days but I am getting there.
