I got a desktop drive from secret :good: and am about to leap into the void, do I drag and drop my files and then delete them from my computer or do I cut and paste, I realise the danger of making a mess using the latter, but as ever I would like to ask your advice.

Many thanks in advance

if you cut and paste then you can then test them and be assured they work and are not lost , theres no mess just cut and paste them check they work and delete the originals and empty the recycle bin afterwards , i take it you want to fee up space ?

edit

ok as there probably very important i would advise a backup via dvd then you can keep it safe ,if you drop that drive or it ever breaks down your gona be unhappy ..

if you don't ave a dvd writer or even a cd writer get one genuinely i would never trust stored data i have seen the back up room at hm customs and excise they have backups of backups and hard copy's ie blue ray disks and then they hold some info in cyberspace ..

get a flicker account http://www.flickr.com/ you can host all your pickys free and if you dont want anyone to see them make it private you can get a dvd writer for £10.99 and free burning software disks are penny's ... http://svp.co.uk/product/lg_gdr-h30n_16x_dvd-rom_drive_4922
