Right guys, now purchased I can say that I paid £1500 for this wagon, unfortunately not knowing anything about cars or landy's I aint got a clue if I have got a good deal. I have taken a load of piccies so LB and you other chaps that know their stuff can advise. i also started a new thread as I did not want the advice to get lost in the other thread.

Only bit that concerns me is a leak in the Drivers side, there is some rust in the footwell. Take a look :good: LB I left a message on your phone

You want to get some new number plates those ones are all blurred, it will never pass an MOT with them on....

Without seeing and hearing it run, any mechanic will have difficulty telling you if it's a good'un or a wrong'un. That being said, there's always something on any Landy that will need fixing. That one does look quite tidy for 1500. I always buy on history - what's the history of it like e.g. has it got a gazillion previous owners?

Looks good for the money :good:

Might want get a new jack, i don't think that little bottle jack would even reach the bottom of your landy, especially with a 3" lift

Highlift jacks are very good and a handy bit of kit to have .

Also the bulkhead removal bar that's been fitted might warrant a look at, not sure its up to the job!!

And landys leak, its a fact of life :lol:

Sorry I missed your call Lee but I left my phone somewhere on purpose

That foot well rust looks negligible from the pic but I would need to see it for myself and the door rubber is relatively easy to change as is the one that's pop riveted on to the sill.

I know MPG isn't going to be an issue for you so stick with the ford lump as a TDi lump will cost a few bob to source and fit.

Evo is right about your bump stop though :good:

Mobile is back in my hands tomorrow if you want a chat.

forgot to add that they all leak, some more than others. As for the footwell, check under the bonnet where the clutch & brake resevoirs sit on the bulkhead as they are prone to rotting there. The one i have posted pics of i have just replaced that section a few weeks back the complete footwell only cost £16 quid to buy but a bit of a pain to fit, all the pedals, linkage and resevoirs had to come out...good fun though

nothing wrong with that motor by the looks of it :birthday: it looks very tidy inside and out and has a really good canvass. Don't worry about the engine as you will find it to be a good lump. You will only have problems if you decide to dip it into water deeper that 2 1/2 foot and lets be honest that doesn't happen that often does it. Its nice to have the extra power as it comes in handy sometimes. But i would be getting a tin of paint for it :yay: that's more than likely why it was cheap :birthday:

THEY ALL LEAK :yay:

looks ok Lee, couple of things to check. is there a electric fan fitted in the engine bay as the fans been removed from the engine and could overheat in summer, the rust on the foot wells dosent look terrible and its a cheap fix to replace, there looks to be rust near the A-pillar on the bulkhead thats were the drivers door fits to the body can see it the 12th pic top right corner but again there a repair kit for that. the reason the roof dosent sit correctly is because of the roll bars, the original hood stick are a lot thiner so there woulnt be any big gaps.

the do all leak even new ones, the 3.0 V6 Essex lump is a decent engine and a fairly common mod on series landys but not seen one on a 90 before. i had a 3.0 Capri once and it was fast enough so will be ok in a 90.

bump stops are rubber pads that stop the suspension bottoming out and there only a few quid to buy and a few bolts.

looks a good buy for the money mate..

coat of nato and do the wheels in black and you will stick £500 straight on it

cheers
