Oly
Anyone else hear about this? Crazy!! I would have thought 'the system' would have put a stop to this when they were trying to register their marriage. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,2239525,00.html Edited January 12, 2008 by Oly
Guest The Outlaw
What a bizzare quirk of fate for them to meet, as siblings they would auto attract not because of lust but the special and strong bond of being a twin. It happens all the time in my village and they dont need to be twins. Thats probably why we were made so welcome when we moved here, new blood and all that Tony
Hunter
Its worked for thousands, if not millions, of years in tribal villages, yet here, its just another thing they can ban. Ok dont get me wrong here, but who really has the right on this planet to say who can or cannot marry eachother? Dont get me wrong, I would never be attracted to my family but I dont think anyone has that right. Wether or not the couple would have kids or not is another thing. I cant even imagine how you would feel if you found out your wife or husband was your family.

funky
keep it in the family thats what i say ........ on a serious note i suppose it proves that love knows no bounds. what i am saying on a psychological level we determine our boundaries through our exposure to family and know what kind of love you apply to who ever, if two people love each other then find out they are related this does not lessen the need to interact but only places a question on the morality of the behavior and does not diminish the feelings of wanting to be intermet. the key here is that they attract and the three elements of any relationship are mental emotional and physical attraction, this i believe is in each individuals psyche and schema which give us our ego ,,,, I.E our sense of self this can not be denied there fore driving individuals to have extra marital affairs for siblings to find each other sexually attractive and so on ,,, Its only society which deems such a thing emoral but our emotion's are what drive us and are never wrong ... the saying I think there fore i am is technically wrong ,,, it is more like "I feel there for i am " Feeling create thoughts which in turn manifest into behavior....and people do things right or wrong because they benefit from it in some of the three ways mentioned earlier I suppose love found a way.. even though it was miss guided attraction how could they have known This must have been a big shock for these two and will have a lasting effect on their lives very very sad... A lesson to adoption agencies to make sure siblings are kept together. DAM WHERE DID ALL THAT COME FROM  CHECK ME OUT FUNKY SIGMUND FREUD DUDE BUT I DO DABBLE IN THE PSYCHIATRIC CIRCLES  LOOK INTO MY EYES YOU WILL FEEL TIRED WHEN I COUNT TO 3 YOU WILL WI....L ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ   Edited January 14, 2008 by funky

mr_colt
The home office firearms guidance on countersigning SGC's has a rather interesting point on this Cousins are not regarded as immediate family but co-habiting partners should be regarded as “family†for these purposes and not be accepted. Clearly if the home office have to issue guidance on the matter then; it could be more prevalent than we all think  mr_colt.
paul65
From a piece written in today's Guardian it would appear this is in fact the start of an urban myth perpetuated by Roman Catholic peer and anti-abortionist Lord Alton. He claims to have heard the story from a judge who had himself heard of the case. http://heresycorner.blogspot.com/2008/01/l...tall-story.html Edited January 15, 2008 by paul65
