colin
HI, Just started shooting pigeons but I am not too sure on what distance there should be between each decoy using the 'Horseshoe' pattern. Would also be very helpful if I new what size of area there should be within the 'Horseshoe'. Please advise...thank you. Colin.
Jonnyni
Hi Colin It all depends on how many decoys ya have to start off with. If you have the standard 12 then pace out about 30yards from the hide and throw all your decoys out in a simicircle from where you are standing (throwing them about 10-15 feet). Fix them properly into the wind and that should start you off. With only 12 its not easy to achieve a good pattern so this is only a starter for ten. Remember pigeons don't land in a perfect horseshoe pattren in real life so don't get too hooked up on the pattern you are only trying to get them to land in a cap within range of your shot. Others may dissagree.
