dalby1988 Posted February 24, 2008 Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 hi all i am looking to get a new rifle but don't know what to get 177 or 22.... i have a theoben fenman 22 at the min and love the gun just want something new so will be up for sale soon if any one is interested.. i want a pcp for hunting but i don't want 1 that you only get about 50 shots from 1 charge, 100+ would be better so any info on rifles would be good to.. thanx martin Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
xyBa Posted February 24, 2008 Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) Well I have the Weihrauch HW100 .177 after previously only using .22 I'm sure which caliber I prefer, the .22 does seem to bring them down easier if you're forced to go for a high chest/neck shot, but now I take head shots only. .177 does increase your range by about 10-15 yards but like I said it needs to be a critical hit more so than with a .22 - there's pros and cons to be both, I personally would take either. smsguitarist Posted March 19, 2008 Report Share Posted March 19, 2008 If you havn't got a FAC then it doesn't REALLY make much difference whether you have .177 or .22. .177 reaches the target in less time but does less damage since it doesn't spread like a .22 on impact. There are many pro's and cons for both. Personally im a .22 fan just because i seem to bring more down with it. loopy bunny blaster Posted March 19, 2008 Report Share Posted March 19, 2008 Only haidressers and girls use .177. if you can shoot it dosent matter... i shoot a £1000 .20 daystate rig, my friend shoots a .22 £400 weihrauch hw77 rig, and ill say hand on heart he is a better shot than me and has a longer capable range than i, it really dosent matter about pellet calibre.
