Well I have the Weihrauch HW100 .177 after previously only using .22

I'm sure which caliber I prefer, the .22 does seem to bring them down easier if you're forced to go for a high chest/neck shot, but now I take head shots only.

.177 does increase your range by about 10-15 yards but like I said it needs to be a critical hit more so than with a .22 - there's pros and cons to be both, I personally would take either.

A few things for you to look at mate:

New Air Arms S200, cracking gun. I had one for ages and only sold it to fund an engagement ring for the missus!

2nd hand dive bottle and hose:

  • 4 weeks later...

If you havn't got a FAC then it doesn't REALLY make much difference whether you have .177 or .22. .177 reaches the target in less time but does less damage since it doesn't spread like a .22 on impact. There are many pro's and cons for both. Personally im a .22 fan just because i seem to bring more down with it. It comes down to a personal thing so i reccommend you try both if you can. maybe ask a mate with both.
