To cut a long story short, she has started playing again to get out of my hair for a while on the odd occasion. I was having a beer at the bar when two guys came off the squash court and I got talking to one who I didn't know from Adam. Seemed a nice guy. To make things even better, he is a local farmer who owns massive acreage from Wallingford where I live, right up to Nuffield, near Henley. 'Got any free shooting going'? I asked politely, and not expecting much of an interest. 'Give me a ring during the week', he replied, 'and the two of us can go lamping for rabbits if you like'! 'I also have plenty of pigeon shooting and also Deer on my land if you are interested'. I thought about this for a nano-second and then thanked him. What a result.
