morning all,

finally got down to my local range last night,

first time i`ve shot in about 18 years! :(

didn`t do too bad , some of the chaps let me fire a few shots withe their guns to get the feel of different models.

which was great.

also got to a shop yesterday.

was recommended a ;---xs78 SMK .22 co2 £69.

scope for preference about £25-£28 :stupid:

for a first gun , to occasionally plink in the garden, and a bit of rabbiting, i`d be gratefull for your thoughts on this gun.

there was a chap with an SMK , not the same model, that let me try his.

It was smooth as silk and the pellet went exactly where i wanted it.

cheers. ???

For plinking in the garden, yes, for shooting live quarry, definitely no. SMK's generally are not well built and have a tendancy to self destruct. If you want a hunting rifle you will need to invest a few more pennies and get a decent rifle. For example and Air Arms TX-200 or a Weihrach HW-77, would be my choice but there are many fine guns out there.

well i have to say your right i real hunting weapon is something like the hw97 or the tx200 all i can say about co2 is look what happened when the ratcatcher came out every one wanted one then every one who wanted one sold cos it sucked big time

springer or pcp are a must just make sure there as close to the legal limit as u can

have a look at the sale part of this forum its got some real deals on but u will need some more pennies first

deffo inverst is something that will last you might only have 60od quid but getting a co2 gat could potentially be a waist of cash!!! if you could up to 150 200 mark you will be on line to get your self a gat that will imprss and last :stupid:
