GunDealsUK
cheers, you dont know if they do a s/s? Thanx Ive never come across one, but there are loads of s/s shotguns about at good prices - everyone seems to want O/Us now.... AYA side by sides are always a good bet and are value for money if you can get one in nice nick, or if you want to spend a bit more the Winchester Model 23 pigeon grade is a cracker (if you can get your hands on one)
Cranfield
Jim, I have never seen a Lanber side by side. Your original question was difficult to answer. Lanber shotguns have always been complimented on here as being good value for money and long lasting guns. But,are they "any good for a game gun"? Well, what do you want ? Will they kill game ? If you aim straight they will. Would you use an over and under game shooting ? I do. If you have £550 to spend, there are a lot of good seconhand side by sides about, if thats what you really want. TX Sniper
well i use a berreta 686s for a pigeon gun as it is light and his a quick gun to use. erhaps i put my needs in the wrong context, it will be used for most things but its intended use would be game. I just wanted a reliable 2nd gun and then i thought maybe worth buying a side by side as its more taditional for a game gun. I just fancied something new as all my guns before have been secondhand. I have an aya hammer gun s/s and a single barrel 20bore whic are both nice guns. Do they do pistol grip side by sides 12g as i hate english stock? How much new? sorry about the confusion cheers for the help jim
Cranfield
You can buy a brand new sbs for under £600, have a look at the Guntrader website, to see whats available. It seems pointless buying another o/u, when you already have a perfectly good one. Your Beretta 686S would be a good "game " gun. For that piece of advice, you can send me half of the money I have saved you.

dodeer
Do you want to sell your berretta?
TX Sniper
no i love it its just i want lots of guns I like it but as its secondhand its not as smart as it could be and i would like a good backup gun if i need to lend it out or have it fixed etc. + having a smart gun is always nice when out on a formal shoot. Salopian
Have a look at the McNab range there is probably something to suit all tastes. If I were you I would buy another 686 so that I had a pair for my double gun days. (This medication for my alucinations does not seem to be working) Salopian.

lurcherboy
I have had one for about three years and must have put 15k of carts through it at a guess. Its a good reliable gun. Get the 30" rather than the 28" I use my pump action most of the time, but when I am on the shoot, its the Lanber. LB
millo2
I have used one since i was 8, so about ten years, my grandad altered the stock for me as i grew so it has an unsightly stock but it still shoots a dream, a solid gun
dodeer
Better off using the 686 for game, better built , better handling, looks nicer, balanced better etc etc.
