BSA Shaun
They are not Crows but good shooting. Incorrect. They are all crows as crow is a species. I assume you meant they are not all carrion crows, in which case you would have been correct. Oh yeah, good shooting and was expecting to see a dog on the bonnet! No mate you are the one who is incorrect. The family is the Corvid Family. A Crow is short slang for Carrion Crow A Jackdaw is called funnily enough a Jackdaw, A Magpie is a Magpie and a Rook is called a Rook etc etc. Does that mean with your logic you can shoot Choughs and Ravens because they are Crows, if you are going to shoot at least buy a bird book. Does the General Licence just say Crow to cover everything black with a beak
islandmartin
Now that's what you call crow bashing! Keep on hammering 'em.
BSA Shaun
"crows are large passerine birds that comprise the genus Corvus in the family Corvidae, ranging in size from the relatively small pigeon-sized jackdaws (Eurasian and Daurian) to the Common Raven" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crow Rook - The Rook (Corvus frugilegus) is a member of the passerine order of birds and the crow family - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rook_%28bird%29 Jackdaw - See above Magpie - Magpies are passerine birds of the crow family - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magpie And I have a bird book thanks. And regards to me shooting, I will rely on my FLO's opinion as to whether I am fit to or not. Edited May 29, 2008 by BSA Shaun
