Lamping

Dave,

Most lamping kits that mount on a 1" scope can be mounted on a shotgun.  I've seen them attached to semi's and pumps, and to the bottom barrel of an o/u.  If you attached it to a s/s gun, it would have to stick out the side.

Ask your gunshop to let you try one to see if it works.   :)

For your information gentlemen, DM already knows this, It is Illegal to discharge any firearm during the hours of darkness. Firearms Regulations 1934 as quoted by a Dealer, so my lamping for pigeons is in effect illegal in the eyes of the law, although I have heard that they do turn a blind eye to it in the case of vermin control.

Otherwise what would they do about the bird scarers that boom in the night as that could be mistaken for gun discharge by some snooty neiboughor relaxing at thier fireplace on some dark night :)

The Police do turn a blind eye to it for vermin control. But if someone complained about excessive noise while you were out blasting away in a field with your shotgun and lamp you are in effect breaking the law. The dealear I skoke to waws adamant that the 1934 firearms act clearly states that it is an offence to discharge a firearm during the hours of darkness. I am currently looking on the Home Office site to verify. I just downloaded the guidlines to police for renewals at 215 pages its going to take me a while to read through it but I will let you know if I find anything.

PC, this could be one of those questions we may not like the answer to.

If the Police ignore the Law, either through ignorance or the "blind eye" method, perhaps its best left that way.

Best of luck in your research.

I,m certainly not telephoning my local Police and asking them.  :)
