Highlander
As usual the law is somewhat ambidexterous on the subject...it's legal to shoot feral cats (only how do you know beforehand) but you can be fined up to £25000 for wounding one. Moral is don't miss and then bury the thing! AND in Peru (I think) they throw Guinea Pigs alive into boiling water to blow the skin so it's easily peeled off before cooking and eating them but then we prepare and eat Lobster in a similar way don't we so who's wrong??? PETA people just don't live in the real world. Edited October 13, 2008 by Highlander

That's a point I've wanted clarifying for a while actually. If you shoot someone's cat, that's cruel and you should be rightly punished for animal cruelty. But, if I get a nice head shot and the cat dies instantly, is that legal? It's not really animal cruelty, because the cat knows nothing about it, so does that make it legal? Ferret Master
But it is someones property so you are breaking the law as it is not feral. FM
Howarthjpj
i know dogs are considered property and if you hit one in a car, you have to stop and notify the owner, but i had heard that cats were different in that respect. i have been a learn'ed...
