After reading the Freelander thread running right now.... I am confused

I was under the impression that Freelanders vans (and cars) were poo but maybe not??? there are a lot of them about....

Or are they like Hatsan Escorts ... love em or hate em but remember although there are some good ones, there are plenty of dogs out there as well....?

Righto Chaps,

Did we get anywhere with this ?

I am looking for a 4x4 company van for work & personal use.

I would like 5 seats but dont want a double cab. (I have already had one)

I have thought about buying the following and fitting a rear seat conversion -

ISUZU TROOPER VAN

NISSAN TERRANO VAN

I want something that'll do half decent MPG and is reliable i.e. a Jap.

Any other ideas fellas ?

Cheers

Hi,

I went around loads of garages today sitting in commercial 4x4's. I cannot work out why the biggest cars on the road are moulded around small Japanese women. There is more room for the driver in my wifes VW Golf.

Hilux NO

Navara NO

SsangYong NO

Shogun NO

Patrol NO

I undertstand I may aswell not even consider Defenders. Discovery is a NO, Landcruiser NO

I am 6'7, it is harder for me to fit in a big 4x4 than get a pair of size 17 wellies!!!!

Why not a discovery? I am 6' 4" and I do not have any issues in one at all. I can't believe that the extra 3" would cause a problem.

If you cannot get in a discovery then I suggest a stretch hummer and take the front seats out and sit in the back.

LV,

I have had the terrano commercial and yes I did rate it. However they are getting old now and most on the second hand market have had a hard life and will be running a few miles. The terrano engines were alot more reliable than the Nevara are. Mine had the rear seat conversion but to be honest I took them out as space is down to nothing for anything else with them in.

Do you need rear seats?

Hi,

I have not sat in one recently, but when they first came out I sat in one and could not get my knees under the sterring wheel. How old is your Disco?
