fert Posted January 26, 2005 Report Share Posted January 26, 2005 turned up at work the other day only to notice a rabbit had been digging in the ten ton of sand where i park my van.nevermind work out with the shovel. dug half the heap away only to be greeted by 3 baby bunnys no bigger than my hand. i see the mother about today and shes moved them to a hole under a log pile. in the middle of the ferreting season and there having young.whatever happened to them good owd frosty winters. old rooster Posted January 27, 2005 Report Share Posted January 27, 2005 If he's prepared to shift 5 ton of sand with a shovel just to look at some baby rabbits are you sure you want to give him a job ? :( :( We've been getting a fair few with young in, some places they don't seem to stop breeding at all. old rooster Posted January 27, 2005 Report Share Posted January 27, 2005 Had a half day ferreting today, pretty slow, ended up with just 8 and one of those had young in it. Rob_88 Posted February 5, 2005 Report Share Posted February 5, 2005 I am having the same problem with young rabbits, one today was probably more than half grown already , it can only of been a few years ago when we were ferreting up till the end of march but now we are having to stop just a week into February, as there seem to be young in nearly every bury now. its just too mild!! Devilishdave Posted February 6, 2005 Report Share Posted February 6, 2005 It bodes well for later on in the year there will be loads of rabbits if they are breeding prolifically at the moment just need to keep fingers crossed the mixie does not hit too hard.
