I got a letter in the post this morning from the MD of my firm (a very big firm).

As i always go to the bottom of the page first and see who signed it, i saw his sig and my rear end could have re-shaped steel. :yay:

Dear MM, please accept out thanks for your commitment...ect...ect.. and we will credit next months wage slip with your prize of £500............................ :yay:

Well done on your good fortune, spend it wisely. :whistling:

It does seem strange to reward an employee for not going sick and for attending work regularly.

We had a scheme like that, it was called, "continuity of employment".

If you wanted it, you didn't go off sick and you attended work regularly. :D

:whistling:

Oh, but nice one MM, by the way!

.....but when the average sick days was something like 30 pp p year, ......

Blimey, what are the averages elsewhere?

In the days when I was responsible for monitoring the organisation's sickrate, I used to raise an eyebrow if an individual exceeded 5 days a year, and certainly over 10 days might warrant a trip to the occupational health specialist just in case there was a question of "fitness for employment" or to establish whether or not the job was causing the ill-health
