My ex-wife had an SJ 1300 several years back. i took that green laning a few times and it was a great little car. Ok, it was a little "hair dresser" as standard, but with the new tyres, a few extra dents and some mud everywhere it looked a lot more manly.

I was surprised how good it was in the mud and, when I took my Frontera down the same track, it seemed to be better. Certainly the SJ didn't get stuck at all, but the Frontera did (just the once mind, and only for a bit).

I'm now considering the benefits of buying one and using it _only_ for a lamping/shooting vehicle, with an estate car or something as my main car for commuting and going camping. If nothing else, they are cheap to buy, cheap to find bits for and have no roof.
