Flock covered Decoys

Recommended Posts

Thanks to a good source from Deako, I will shortly be the proud owner of some full-bodied and shell type flock covered decoys.

Whilst they were a "good" price, I want them to last a long time.

I need some advice.

Is getting them wet a problem?

How do you clean them?

Is it OK to put them in the same bag as plastic decoys?

Any other tips for their use, or care would be appreciated.

Hi Cranfield, glad I was of help!

Our decoys are treated very roughly;rain, shine, whatever. They are never cleaned and at the end of the day are thrown into a sack, mud and all.The current batch are still almost as new, just the occasional one showing signs of the flock peeling, but I would think that treated with a bit of TLC,they should last a lifetime. If you have a problem with the deeks,Mike will take them back and repair them.He also does superb goose decoys, one man can manage 50 on his own!! ;)

Having used the flock-covered decoys "in the field", I am even more impressed with them. From a distance they look far more realistic than the plastic ones.

I have never realised just how shiny the plastic ones are.

I bought these from N & S Shooting Supplies, Warrington ,Cheshire.

Ring Mike Newall on 01925 728057 or 01204 708930

They also have other pigeon shooting stuff, nets, hide poles etc.

Good price, excellent quality, highly reccommended.
