fullbore
A moderator is a firearm and your FAC must be varied, to buy or sell one same as a rifle
Lancs Lad
If he has a mod on his ticket and the slot is filled. then he will need to send it back for a variation. We often have this in the shop with guys trying to "upgrade", UNLESS the other mod is taken off then the shop cant sell you another...........LEGALLY. hill billy
ok ! so what is the owner of a large gun shop doing telling us it's all fine and above board ?
sbald
If his ticket just says .223+moderator and you go into a shop with one moderator and come out with a different one why would this be a problem.
Devilishdave
I think you are making a rod for your own back here. If you have a mod unknown on ticket and you give it to the shop and get a new one from them you still have a mod unknown for the same cal on ticket I cant see a problem with this although by the letter of the law you should **** about wasting your time the gun shps time and police time with paperwork. your call. What is strange is you can go in to a gun shop and buy a sak mod for an air rifle without an FAC no problem. If you screw it on to the front of your .22lr or .17hmmr and you dont have it on ticket you are ilegaly in possetion of a fire arm and technicaly liable for up to 5 years in prison for it.
