New Dogs

Recommended Posts

As you probably know, I have been deliberating over a new dog for some time now, and was still undecided as to what to get.

As it happens, me and my shooting partner in the space of a week have managed to aquire 2 curs!!!!!!!

Here they both are:-

Blaze ......as he is now known we believe is a young greyhound with a dash of alsation,(we think!) that was found wandering aound open fields. We think he is was a coursing dog that was abandonded as he instinctively hunts and courses rabbits very succesfully. we think he is about 18 months old...... He is quite nervous still but is coming along nicely.

Henry......... is a 6 month old ESS. Believe it or not he was given to us 'free', yes 'free' of charge along with an indoor kennel!!!! His owner is moving abroad, and wanted a working home for his beloved dog. Already partly trained, he is steady to the gun, and fearlessly enters into brambles and water, flushing rabbits. He is a great looker, with alot of potential.

Will keep you informed of their progress.

Cheers... he is a big powerfull lad....and whilst dashing about with the springer it is evident that he's got the shoulder barge off to a T. Because of this technique we also wondered if he been used possibly for single handed deer coursing, and had got seperated from his owner whilst out in the field

To be honest we can only guess what else is in him, but what ever it is, it is only a dash. We thought GSD because of his eye colouring, and marking on his tail.

some of you more experienced lurcher men might be able to offer another idea perhaps?
