Deako
Johnny, The Shooters warehouse provide this service apparently.
Cranfield
johnny, I have made enquiries of most of the "flocked decoy sellers" and none of them provide this service. One told me that by the time they have thoroughly cleaned the "old" decoy, to ensure that the flock adhesive will stick, its cheaper in time, to use a new "clean" decoy. I think Deako was being ironic.
Deako
Cranfield, If you refer to the 'Rip-off' thread, you will see that shoot warehouse do, indeed, provide this service...no wind up.
Deako
...the cost is £1.25 for a shell and £1.95 for a full bodied decoy.
Cranfield
I got the impression that the statement that this facility was available was, " misguided". However, I stand to be corrected. I suggest you contact them and let us know how you get on. I won,t hold my breath.
johnny
Thanks guys I have contacted shoters warehouse, and they do offer this service and is £1.75 for plain grey or £2.50 for the works plus postage. This price is ok Ithink but the postage will kill it I think but I will look into it. Happy hunting John
Cranfield
johnny, please post up the details of the full prices, for shells and full bodied, including postage, when you get them. I,m very interested, not just for my old plastic ones. Its my experience that the flock coating on decoys, doesn,t last for ever. They don,t like too much banging about in the "decoy bag". I might want some of mine renovated soon. Unless someone has a better idea. Anyone tried DIY flocking ? (Please resist the obvious )
Will Beasley
Flock coating.... I have a set of 50 here which we have had since July/August last year and they've certainly been used every other day, maybe more in the most mingingest conditions. Mud, blood, wet, snow frost. These came from a certain man who mr Deako knows very well. I can honestly say that for the average pigeon shooter you should have no worries about your flock coating coming off. We give em a good thrash on a pretty much daily basis and they're still goin strong.
