**** :good: That had to hurt! It just goes to show you have to be careful where you point a loaded gun even if it is pointing at the ground. I hate to say it but I've probably crossed my toes a few times when I've pointed the muzzle down quickly for some reason or other. It would be easy to do when you're thinking more about not pointing the gun at someone you're out with than where your feet are. :P

If he got £400 he got of lightly the going rate is normaly one months wages for an ND on Ops!!

 

I hope your cousin is on the mend after his IED.

thanks for your concern he is going in for an op today to have his heel reconstructed after the accelarator pedal smashed his foot up, i think if they had been in a land rover he would have died the mastiff they were in was totally ruined

He's not the first and, unfortunately, will not be the last.

 

I heard of someone who shot himself (with a .45 I believe) when he took the safety off while the gun was holstered during a practical pistol competition (when handguns were legal here).

 

There was a bang and he said something like "I think I've just shot myself" and promptly fell over. The bullet went down inside the length of his thigh and because it was teflon coated the surgeon had to open his thigh the full length of the wound to clean it completely. He now has a permenant limp and was banned from all competition for life.
