Steve Posted February 26, 2002 Report Share Posted February 26, 2002 Has anyone ever used 28g 7&1/2 cartridges for decoying? My local gunshop is selling cartons of 250 HV Express for £18. I have a spot where I can easily get birds to land within 30yds of the hide, and at £1.80 a box I was thinking of giving them a go. What are your thoughts guys?? lazza Posted February 26, 2002 Report Share Posted February 26, 2002 Hiya Steve I reckon you've probably got a good deal on those cartridges!Even with the best shot money can buy,a miss is a miss!I try to balance being happy with the cartridge without breaking the bank.You could try buying one box to see how you get on with them.Then if you did'nt like them you would'nt have wasted too much money.I must admit I had a problem with one make of cartridge,I just feathered everything!As for the 71/2, alot of people prefer to shoot with 71/2 or smaller as you get more pellets from the cartridge & supposedly a better chance of a hit.I prefer 6's myself,but I get a reasonable price on them, and I've confidence in that particular make.
