Imperfection
us pump owners get the snobery no end! I have noticed that Babby.I watched a couple of guys clay busting with a pair of pumps once and when they finished that particular stand-a few people behind me commented about their choice of gun.To be honest-they scored pretty good and in no way discraced themselves so i couldnt see a problem. As for me owning an Escort-so what cos i also have a Lanber too! :(

Ozzy Fudd
I used to own a Savage 12gauge pump, but found that the shells tried to fall out and then jam, when reloading for the second bird on the Springing Teal type shot. Does this happen with the Mossy, or has this problem now been eradicated from pumps, the only reason I never bought another in Datsun format but chose the semi instead ooops missed this i cant remember when i last had a jam, maybe it was in march? but it was my fault, trying to pump too quick and didnt pull the slide back far enough to eject the empty casing. and the only time i ever have problems with shells falling out is if the guns nearly upside down with the ejection port pointing towards the ground, in that case then they can then fall "up" and through the port. it was easily sorted tho, i just stopped shooting whilst hanging upside down from trees... starlight32
Waited for nearly 15 minutes today for an escort shooter to clear the stand.....We just sat down, had a cigar and watched the melee' unfold. All you kept hearing was jam -'sorry about this',jam 'so sorry' And finally 'Damn, the choke's right loose' I noticed he also doffed his cap as he was leaving the stand-Must have been the old 686 leaving him inspired. I would also like to know why do most Hatsan owners wear British DPM's to a clay ground and drive a suzuki jimny? Just noticed the pattern today.Thought it was worth a mention. Anyone care to elaborate?

Yes, they are the epitome of 'Marmite guns'. And I hate them.
soontjen
so i take it you'd take your 687 into a pigeon hide and on a rough shoot ? marminte guns ?? horses for course's as for the d.p.m i think it does look a little strange in tesco's . . often wondered why myself

Alanl50
I'm the proud owner of 26" Escort in the black never heard so much ******** about Escorts, so far this year its KO over 1000 rabbits and well over 700 pigeons + a few tree rats and funny as it seems no jams, and no breakages, have I got a rare one or are we talking of inverted snobbery. My local gun shop"The Mallard Gun shop" cannot stock enough, there gone as soon as they arrive are there loads of secret Escort owners in Suffolk who only come out in the dark? The only grief Ive seen is burks who take them apart to clean them and manage to assembly them with the "O" ring the wrong side of the piston. I also own a brand new Lanber Field o/u 12g, an old Baikal o/u 12g and a Baikal single 410, I remember all the jibes about Baikal when they appeared on the scene years ago!!! but I still prefer to use the Escort, £275.00 is what I paid brand new +3 year warranty, the warranty is probaly the most dubious thing about the gun. Lighten up, Maybe its all the new gun owners can afford, we all start some where. Im lucky enough to be able to have what I want but am happy with what I got and I dont blame the gun when I miss! Alanl50
lol, I knew that one was coming, ZB The guy has had them on back order since last year, bloody things are sold before he gets them, But as the price he sells them for makes you wonder how much he paid for them, how much Edgar Bros paid for them? and is it a master plan by the Turkish to over run the UK with cheap guns and grease their path for them to join the E.U. lol Will Kebabs take over from curries, he he Regards Alan

Ean76
Should we do a poll or similar to see out of how many PW members there officially are, how many own a Hatsan. Not necessarily a true snapshot of the whole UK shooting community but good enough. For statistical purposes only - hasn't the digging already been done. And done.?? danccooke
I am English so used to having the **** taken and can laugh at myself. I take my cammo Datsun so the clay club and treat it like **** in the field. It cost me £140 as the cammo is worn in places. It has had 1000's of cartridges through it. Mostly Hull Special Pigeon i've (touch wood, **** there isn't any) it has never jammed or misfired on me. if i had one complaint about the gun it would be the cruddy placement of the safety catch. Other than that. I pull the trigger it goes Bang and things fall out of the sky, so far never bits of gun. I used to have Gola's when I was at school, then I moved up to Nick's I now earn bloody good money but sadly being married to an accountant means I am not actually allowed to use any money on anything but her. So it was a cheap gun or no gun. I'm still shooting.
