Gibbybox
Hi folks, I've been having bother with the bottom barrel of my Lanber Model 844 (same as Savage Model 440 I believe) misfiring quite frequently. I've stripped it down to the stage shown in the photos and removed the 'firing pin retaining pin' thinking the firing pins would come out easily after this step. However they seem to still be fixed in there somehow! Can anyone shed some light on what else needs to be done to remove the firing pin? I don't think it's broken so was going to see if a good clean of the channel helps. Hopefully the photos explain clearly what I mean, I've also attached a manual type exploded view of the relevant action. Any help is greatly appreciated! Gibby P.S. First time posting photos so fingers crossed this works ok...
