BSA PCP Hornet question

Hello all,

I've been considering getting back into airgun hunting for a while now. I've used a Webley Tracker gas ram for years, but after trying and being amazed by the light weight of a friends Air arms PCP I've been thinking of getting something similar.

A neighbour of a colleague has offered me a .177 BSA Hornet PCP with silencer and scope. I've been round to have a go with it, everything seems fine. He's asking £300. Is this a good price ?

I'm still leaning towards an Air Arms, but I've heard the Hornets are nice rifles. My quarry will be rabbits, pigeon and squirrels.

Any thoughs on the price will be much appreciated. How much more would I need to spend to obtain an Air Arms 410 for instance with scope and silencer.

Thank you for you thoughs,

B

Hornet is a good accurate gun, once you have mastered the cocking system, it`s regulated too so you have a decent shot count. I have a few, BSA pcp`s and also an Air arms 510 and to be honest apart from the cocking methods, shooting one is the same as shooting another, far more forgiving than a springer too.

That seems a fair price, only thing to factor in is the charging system, you might pay a little more for an Airarms but you do know the history of the Hornet.
