[New member from Staffordshire]

Cheers guys, it seems like a couple of new members from staffs have joined tonight. Where do you guys go claying? I tend to either use shrugborough or doveridge but would love to know other fairly local places

 

 

I don't shoot at clay grounds very often but I like to go to Doveridge and Cloudside in Congleton (http://www.cloudside.co.uk/) as it's a bit closer for me.

Thanks alot guys for the ideas i've got alot i can try out now. Need to get down and practice and see what works for me.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before that i seem to have.

 

I'm right eye dominant and shoot on my right and for the majority of the time i shoot ok with both eyes open. I've got a problem with some crossers though... (ive only shot 2, 75 bird sporting shoots, im a noob but im pretty sure its just the crossers) my left eye tries to take over or takes over sometimes, feels like i go cross eye'd a bit if you know what i mean, i always miss when it happens its very annoying!. It seemed to happen more after half way through when my eye's were feeling tired.

 

I'm not shooting with my head to low so i obscure my right eye's vision, my friend who is a basc coach said my eye is a little to high if anything. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before and how they overcame it :thumbs: i don't want to shut my left eye i dont like it.

I did 31/75 at my first shoot today with South Cheshire Clay Club, quite happy with that I’ve got a sore cheek though!!!

 

Clays coming from behind me, overhead and clays coming low and fast from right to left gave me the most trouble. Didn't hit many of those

Had my first time out with a shotgun tonight shooting clays at http://www.cloudside.co.uk/

 

An old friend of mine i used to ride trials with is a BASC trained coach, I went up with him and got a free lesson. I think i had beginners luck or he's an exceptional coach (both i think hehe), i got 23 clays out of 25, very happy with that Was very strange shooting with both eyes open at first.

 

It was more fun than i expected. I think i'll give this shotgun lark a go :(

I stumbled across this forum today, what a find! Some great information and topics on here I spent longer than I would like to admit reading the forum at work

 

I'll briefly introduce myself. I live in Stoke-on-Trent and have shot air rifles on and off since i was a lad on a few acres my family owns in Mow Cop, hunting crows and rabbits mostly and helping a few farmers out here and there. I've done a bit of 100 yard target shooting with rimmies at leek shooting club as well.

 

After a year off from shooting I’m resurrecting my hobby and getting back out there! I've recently booked a 5 day stalking holiday in northumberland national park with the missus as well. Roll on July
