  1. I had a similar situation with Sussex (Soon to be my employer....again!)

A FEO whom i refuse to deal with for various reasons stated that they would need to contact the framer for him to tell them what i need in dealing with the pest problem.....

My problem being he is not a shooter and doesn't have a clue, he could of been breifed i suppose but going on past issues i doubt that would have helped. so no FAC shottie in the end!

  2. I was there last year and brought back lots of goodies! (a full second bag load!)

Basspro/outdoors world there is very good and only a 10 min drive from the strip. They have tones of kit in there and most of what you want....be careful what you bring back though as some may need to be entered on you ticket by customs on your return.

I also believe that a Sportsman's Warehouse has opened there recently.

I live in Phoenix for five months in 2007 and i must admit that their outdoor stores do stock some great kit. I also was not a licence holder at the time sadly. Cabela's, Basspro and Sportsmans are all great stores but yes sadly there isn't a Cabela's in LV just yet.

If you are after reloading stuff then do your homework before you go. Projectiles are remarkably cheap even with the poor dollar rate of late, as is some of the brass. Check out their site, EVERYTHING is on there!

Enjoy your second trip there. I thought i would hate the place when it was first suggested as a short trip, but i loved it even in the 50 Celsius heat and suffering with pneumonia! I went back for my cousins cheesy wedding last year which was a giggle if taken in the Vegas spirit of things. And i cant wait to return there in the future.....

You may want to check out the Hawaiian Tropic Zone Bar, just up from Paris and on the same side in the evenings.....However the wife may not appreciate it as much as you unless she likes bikini clad 20 somethings too!

    Have a fantastic trip!

  3. I had a really good return flight from Phoenix to Vegas with southwest (The Ryanair Model Airline!)

Dont forget that American Airlines is a chapter 11 company, if i remember correctly, ie bank roled and run by the government so they can keep trading.

I bet we dont see that if BA struggle much more.....

  4. I have just called my local Aircrew Medical Examiner for a renewal on my CAA class 1 medical. Because i have turned 30 (now 33) i also have to have an ECG aswell at the mere cost of £170 and i haven't done a days flying since i finished my commercial license in May 07! Still, it's moderately better than the initial cost at Gatwick £385.

So i was curious whats the worst youv'e been stung by you friendly local GP

  5. HAHA!!!!! :)

I once arrested someone when he thought he was walking away from court......

He had been an overstayer for six years, three failed appeal attempts and now a wife and two kids in the UK. Couldn't drive though, he potted a teenager on a red traffic light and put his 4x4 on its roof on the A27, which is how i came to know him.

Anyhow, i phone Imigration in Croydon and told them i had him in custody. They told me they had nobody available to come and deal with him, it's difficult to deport people to Libya and would i mind bailing him......Hell yes, they had lost contact with him since 2000! he was released! no further action.

The system really is **** in those circumstances!

  6. No it's failing to prove who you are and/or where you live for the purpose of a summons.

But if there was a national system....which has already been bought by DVLA, then there would also be a way of checking that, much like is already done with driver licence checks, again reducing wasted time for everyone.

That is unless you are a driver of a motor vehicle, who can be stopped purely for the purpose of establishing the identity of the driver......fail to divulge and its a one way ticket.

IMHO, nothing to hide, nothing to fear

  7. Currently if you are e.g. suspected of committing, about to commit an offence..... and you fail to provide suitable details for a summons then you can be arrested under Section 24 of the Police & Criminal Evidence Act......

This was in my experience used more so with traffic offences than in any other area, but it still applies.

Funny what you say about the ID for booze. I spent 5 months in Arizona in 2007 and it made my girlfriend laugh everytime they asked me for ID being 31 at the time. But regardless of age they have a good system in that they ID everyone for alcohol over there. However if you are in a group at the checkout, they will ID everyone in the group and if you have someone under 21 with you, they will refuse to serve you. But that is probably for a different thread.

  8. Sorry but on my former Police bandwagon again,

An MP made the mistake of asking us our opinion on this one once and he didn't like the answer he got from us.

If you dont have valid ID on you then you can be arrested for failing to provide a suitable name and address for the purpose of summons, end of.

If more people understood that then they may be a little more inclined to carry a nat ID card. For the normal majority of the public it is not an issue as you will all have something with you that is suitable. BUT for those trying to evade whatever, they will try whatever means to not divulge their true details......next stop a wasted evening for everyone in the custody block and the streets not being patrolled to deal with something potentially more important.

With the advent of on street fixed penalties for so called minor criminal offences, this just led to more people being arrested for basically not proving who they are.

Sadly and rightly or wrongly the onus is on you when you are stopped to prove who you are, not the other way around.

Arrestable offence for failing to carry the card? - Thats the suggestion the MP didn't like however he didn't realise the position for not providing suitable details.

Sorry if this starts another Anti Police debate as it is not intended to. Thats just the law as it stands already and why Mrs Miggins doesn't have a quick response time!
