  1. In today's Barnsley Chronicle it is reported of the passing of Karl Slater (whom I believe to be the same of former Guns International of Stairfoot), and who died peacefully in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on 25th April aged 77 years.

I grew up knowing Pop (dec), Karl and Pat and enjoyed much business and friendship with them.

Funeral service and cremation is at Ardsley Crematorium, Tuesday 10th May at 2:50pm.

Donations in lieu of flowers to Cancer Research

A super chap, amazing gunsmith and super shot.

    Will be sadly missed.

    Condolences to Pat and family.

  2. Hi Folks,

this air rifle will be for sale again when I am back in the UK NEXT WEEK (1st May 2016)

I will be home for 2 weeks only. There was a heap of interest last time I was back from Aussie but I had a few no-shows.

If I have to, I will post the rifle at your expense, but I would still prefer a face to face deal and handover with cash.

First in gets it, it is priced to sell so no offers at this price please, you know its a bargain.

    Thanks

I have created a new listing for this gun too, there is only ONE for sale, and both listings are for the same gun. If you are interested send me a PM and I'll give you a UK landline number to call for when I get back into the UK.

  3. I have 2 husq chainsaws one 14" and one 20" for use around the farm, used most weeks over the last 7 years and both great but I don't think as good as the stihl magnums. My next saw will be Stihl.

All my power tools (apart from my dewalt compound saw) are Makita and all good, particular my 18v lith ion rechargeables. I didn't know makita made petrol chainsaws but wouldn't buy one at home in Aussie as the market is dominated (and supported) by Husq and Stihl.

So I think if you stick to orange you'll be fine either way and always be able to get spare parts for decades to come.

  4. Yes Falcon I'm surprised too as it's a real cracker. I've had a good few offers at 300 but all from far away (to post)!and I really need to do a face to face with cash. With the bank holiday I can't post it before I fly and it's a pain in the rifle butt trying to send money electronically to Aussie.

But if anyone is close to South Yorks and wants it today it's here waiting

    Cheers

  5. Hi folks

I am now back in UK and happy to take calls and emails about this.

As promised to previous enquiries I have now added a couple of more pics here for you.

I leave for Australia on the 22nd April so I need a face to face with cash before this date (please see original post).

    Many thanks

  8. Hi mate

I've had a tikka T3 laminate stainless in .223 1 in 8 twist for the last couple of years or so and it is brill. A very solid rifle that has never given a moments problem, and the bolt action is one of the smoothest i've come across after the Sauer 202. It is of course made in the Sako factory in Finland so quality of workmanship and finish is superb.

10 out of 10 for me.

    Rgds

  9. I'm not familiar with the 510 but the 410 is very good indeed.

In terms of calibre choice, you should probably try first, but I prefer .177 for feather and .22 for fur (if that makes sense).
