I agree go for Both a 17 gives you alot beta range but you can't the 22 at times
-
is it just me or are thos on the bottom line hares?
-
i have noticed a drop in the amount in my area i just put it down as a hard time during breeding for food and ect...
but i have noticed alot of road kills they were in good condistion plenty of body fat by the looks of things so makes that theory go out the window some wat
-
i use the rem's gives me the best grouping only thing i find is that they do seem to split alot i also once had a misfire wen i pulled the trigger that went off after about 5-6secs which was scary to say the least but after that never had anymore problems along that lines. i have tryed other ammo but rems are the best for me and they dont half do the job right

Can run through it with you if you want ?
Steve
u have pm mate thanks
-
As mentioned. Try and find someone to show you how it's done. It's not that difficult or dangerous. Common sense is the main thing. I learned by watching a mate, and then went and bought my own gear.
like I said I would like to learn it's finding someone to learn off al keep my fingers crossed and see wat happening with this tread
Cheers

ps thanks for the replys people

I'm not sure if you can get anyone to reload them for you, maybe invest in some reloading equipment and get someone to show you were to start.
If you have surplus of cases then I certainly could find em a good home.
yeah it was a stab In the dark it's not really the price I'm botherd about with factory ammo just the accuracy I was thinking about
and as for doing it my self I wud love to reload it's finding someone to show me the ropes

I was woundering if anyone on this site reloads there 243 bullets near by Morpeth and would not mind reloading bullets for me (paying my way for this of course) I would be really greatful for this act I have cases to reload and I am willing to pay for wat is needed.
if anyone is willing to help me plz leave a reply or send me a pm

Are you moving your scope to the centre of target or the bullet hole to the scope
Can u explain that abit more?
-
trouble zeroing my .243 as it says i just can't seem to get my a-bolt to zero scopes and mounts are solid and the best group of shots I can get is 3" and that's with Winchester 80gr soft point at 200 yards Also tryed it at 150yards and 100yards results not much beta it's driven me crazy to tell the truth as it's bit hitting on target I dnt use it becoz it's not accurate so it is just sitting in the cabnet so I really need some tips and help getting it on target
Cheers

Just try them. Plenty of people get by without buying expensive brass and it doesn't hurt to give it a go. The great thing about reloading is that you only have to make a batch of say three rounds, then send them down the range and see how they group. If they don't, make a few changes and try again. Generally speaking though it's not so much the make of brass that matters for consistancy, rather that you don't come up with a load and then make it in various makers brass. Different makes vary in capacity so what is a max load in one may be over the top or slower in another.
One other tip - load all the cases once whether in batches or all in one go once you've found a good load. Then use them all and then load them all again. That way you can easily keep a note of the number of times they've been fired and just bin the lot when you start having trouble with some of them. You can be sure once one starts to show signs of being tired the rest wont be far behind.
Thanks mate a will do that just to try them out didn't really want to waste them anyways
Thanks for the replys people

would say Norma is better than Winchester, but if you have Winchester don't bother buying Norma! All will work fine for hunting so just use what you have.
i must admit that did cross my mind about using the Wins!
-
Ok thanks for the reply folks I think il keep the wins for the future and a will try the Norma's brass for reloading
Thanks

Is it for the 17 or 243 ..?
243 sorry shud of said!
-
possibly ... there is variation in thickness and therefore volume between batches let alone brands.
Also composition, hardness and consistency can vary.
This can all lead to differences in performance BUT how much in the real world may depend on whether you have a custom hand polished match br, or a well used worker
i have 40 winchester's empty and a got told to try norma brass b4 reloading them
because the Norma brass is beta to reload
-
Here's my question
Does the brass make a difference to when reloading by this I don't mean just reloading any type and firing it I mean. I mean can I expect different results if I got home loaded Norma brass to Winchester brass?
Thanks

hi I was wondering if anyone in my area (Morpeth) That reloads there own ammo and would not mind showing me the ropes to reload my own ammo for my 243 which is mostly used to foxes. I have been interested in reloading for a long time and would love to be able to do so
if anyone can help me i would be very greatfull.
Thanks
