  1.

Your cartridges will be fine , I used a 1000 that were 30 years old the other year and they still did the job.

Have you put on or lost weight since you last shot as that can alter gun fit equally has your eyesight changed as you dominant eye may have changed.

Yes I've lost about 2 stone and I started testing my eyes as soon as I got back in. Still right eye dom. but left eye is way out to what it used to be. I guess I just have to start from scratch again. Thanks for all the comments.

  2. I went out on to my new permission this afternoon. Mainly for a walk with the gun to get an idea of what the birds were up to. I sat/stood under some tress as there were lots flying around, so no net or decoys just me :ninja: . I had a lot of good opportunities but I didn't hit a bloody thing. I haven't picked up the gun for about two years and I used to be a cracking shot but now it's all gone tits.

I know I am to blame and lack of practice but I did see feathers come off a few. My carts are about 5 years old. Would that make a difference, ie loosing power. The gun still had plenty of kick.

Any ideas or should I should man up and get more practice in, clay etc. Has this happened to anyone else.

Fancied some pigeon breast tonight as well. :sad1:

  3. Hello,

I had a bit of a sabbatical from PW for a while. For those that new, I was in the Army but after 9 years I fancied a changed helped along by Cameron. I'm not a civvy living near Saffron Walden. I seemed to have landed on my feet as one of the local farmers has given me permission on his land. One field over from my house, so I thought I should get back into it. I will be keeping an eye out for some old names.

    So hello again.

  4. I don't normally bite at these inane comments offered by the mirror/sun readers here who base their opinion as if it is fact but actually based on 0% evidence and what can only be seen as utter jealousy and bitterness.

I know a bit more on this subject than any one of you, and you have it so so wrong.

  5. I am removing my engine as my 101 is going to go tdi

Range Rover 3.5 V8 engine from a Land Rover 101. Was EFI but is now running with 2 x Stromberg Carbs.

The engine was transplanted from a Range Rover a few years ago and put into my 101 by the previous owner. It has been running on LPG and Petrol and runs very well. It starts on LPG and petrol and was reliable throughout the winter. It has roughly 50,000 miles on it.

It recently had a chemical test as it reached temperature quicker than normal. I suspected the head gasket but the test proved they are both good. It turned out to be the rad cap not sealing. The engine did not ever overheat. I was just aware it got hot quicker than normal. It has now been running perfectly. I recently did a 200 mile trip with no overheat problems.

The engine can be seen running and driven before the removal in 2 weeks. I am near Manningtree.

The radiator and oil cooler are not included in the sale.

It will be removed from my 101 in 2 weeks in Nottingham.

For sale with the engine or separately the lpg kit.

All components including a 100ltr tank.

    Pictures and video to follow.

    £200 engine

    £100 lpg kit
