Hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to find one of those adjustable spiked gunslip stands. They used to be on sale everywhere, but I can't track one down anywhere. I'm looking for the type that you can fix to your own slip, can't provide a picture (because I can't find one 🙄 )
Can anyone help please?

Could this really be a shaggy dog story?
A few months ago I was driving to my local shoot. My mate and I saw a large black cat like creature just stroll across the road about 75 - 100 yrds ahead of us. It was broad daylight and the animal was in no hurry, we both saw it clearly.
Neither of us had idea what it was, but it was BIG, certainly not a domestic cat.

My guess is they are not dysfunctional, that lad just has the look of a spoilt brat all over his face. I'd wager he's had his own way all of his life and has learnt to just demand or take what he wants.
Anyway, despite what I think it's lmost impossible to believe that someone could do that to their own Grandfather. It's bad enough somebody beating up an old person, but actually STABBING your own Grandad!?!?!

I'm lefthanded and have owned both left and right handed guns.
Like you, I have no desire to enter comps and have shot "OK" with both. But as has been said, only you will know the difference as it affects you.
Remember though the cast "on" or "off" centre, at the heel, is only about 4mm on most guns. ie the difference in cast between a left and right handed gun is about 8mm.
Based on what you've said 9ie you're not into comps etc) my gut reaction is that the cast is not going to make a huge difference in real terms. However, I agree with johnphilip - it's worth getting this checked properly as you have a responsibility to dispatch live quarry cleanly.

I don't recall anyone ever commenting along the lines of the "Wally with the Brolly" However, I must admit whilst I don't normally carry a brolly, there have been times when I wished I had.
Bottom line, I'd say it's up to you. Normal rules regarding the use of brollies apply of course.

Might be a bit tame, but I did this recently - Local pub - I paid for a slap up Breakfast for about 20 mates (no beer), local clay shoot for a spot of shooting fun - include a flurry. Back to the pub for those beers.
Simple but we all had a great day.

No more no less. I have been a fan of CG since the beginning particularly their astute marketing and head for detail such as signing RF to the brand. As Ed says the quality has improved and is now on a par with the mid range stuff from Beretta.
What you can't do is start knocking Beretta who are the oldest company in the world having made guns for 500 years, I bet my last penny CG would have taken a few apart in order to fast track into the market and why not, it took Blaser 3 times as long to arrive at a decent product even if they're still kidding themselves on the price.
Having said this I wouldn't put them in the same league as a K80 or DT10/11 or Perazzi, some are prettier but I doubt they could win an unbiased engineers test.
Agreed ref the marketing and as you say getting Richard Foulds on board was a major signing.
I don't think anyone's knocking Beretta (or any of the other guns) Hammy, and of course I'm not qualified to comment ref an engineers test. It would certainly make interesting reading though!
For me, the mere fact that any company has been doing something for "XX" years, is not in itself a default measure of superiority. In truth, I suspect what jmoz actually means is that the older guns are (obviously) more established, and clearly they have an enviable track record. And THAT can not be earned in 10 - 15 years, and to fair, I partly agree with that.
However to simply dismiss, without any kind of reasoned argument, what is self evidently a super product, is in my humble opinion a tad blinkered.
CG, as Ed rightly pointed out, did have a few teething problems with early guns. But this, (in my opinion - remember I have two CG's so far) has been more than adequately mitigated by a series of excellent reviews from highly regarded sources. And of course, the steady increase in the use of these excellent guns by club; registered competition and internationally known shooters has to count for something.

I prefer the BMW as a drivers car, but the Audi overall. Having said that, if I was in the market for an estate car, I'd pop along to the local Skoda dealer and get myself a new Ocativa or Superb. Both brilliant IMHO.

I have two CG's, a Challenger and a Tempio. I've owned Berettas and Brownings in the past, but I can't think of a single reason why I'd ever swap away from Caesar Guerini. Lovely guns.

I am West Mids/Staff too. Not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure I sent my renewal application off in October, it was for a December renewal.
They contacted me to ask if I was OK to have a telephone interview the following day. I agreed, a very polite Woman called about 15 minutes late, and apologised for doing so!
The interview took about 10 minutes and mainly just covered stuff already on my application. However, she did specifically ask me if my cabinet was the same and still in the same place - which it is. Also, to confirm that I understood that they are entitled to seek medical opinion if needed, which I am aware of.
At the end of the telephone convo, she told me the Cert would be sent out directly. Odd though, because when it arrived, it had been signed and dated the day before my "interview" !?!?!?
Anyway, it was all was dealt with in plenty of time ie well before my renewal date.

I don't think they did merge in the end. I'm staffs and fac took 5 weeks in total and could of been earlier by a week but I wasn't around for interview
Oh and staffs are excellent now
They did merge and dealt with have my recent renewal pretty quickly to be fair. They did do a telephone interview which seemed a bit pointless as most of the questions were answered on my application!?! Can't recall exactly, but it was less than 2 months turn around.
BUT, my renewal previous to this last one (ie just over 5 years ago) was dealt with by West Midlands in 10 days from application to get this.......hand delivered certificate!

So we may not see him as a role model but a lot of people are impressed by him.
And therein lies the real issue.
There's little point is us lot going on about him being guilty or not. He was found guilty in a court of law. Also, there's no point in banging on about this girl and whatever she did, because whatever she did, morales or no morales, she did not break the law.
So, should he be allowed to play professional football or not? If there was no culture that idolises football players then I would possibly say yes, he's done his time etc. But, again there's no point in saying "I wouldn't allow my kids to hold these people up as role models" because the simple fact is, people DO hold these players in high regard. Personally, I don't agree that footballers should be role models (although I'm sure some of them do actually deserve to be role models) but who cares what I think. The sad truth is, the first time Evans scores a goal and turns to the adoring fans, they [the fans] will be cheering a convicted rapist. People being people, some will see it as being OK for a man to rape a woman, and gents, that's simply wrong. But to be adored or held in high regard having done so, can't be right. I don't know, but I assume most rapists return to their lives, albeit not as before, but most people don't have thousands of people adoring them. It makes a difference.

Well I went to the local gun store to have a mooch and came out with an Arsam A612........ not sure how it happened.
Been looking at them for a while and one minute I was handling it and then next it was mine......... they are good in that shop.

Interesting debate. Firstly I hope your mate is OK, despite his possible dog ownership shortcomings, it's never nice to hear of someone being bitten.
My 2p worth is that I would not want to keep a dog that had bitten aggressively. However a defensive bite may be another thing entirely.
We have a rescued Whippet boy who had never been taught any manners by his (elderly) previous owners. We'd had him a couple of weeks, and one of the issues was he was not (and still is not) allowed on our furniture. This was clearly a problem for him to get his little head around, as well as all the other changes in his new life with us.
One night he crept up onto the settee and I approached him and waved him off, he snapped at me and made contact with my hand. If I'm honest at the time I was furious, there was no blood or punctures, even though it did sting a bit! But, given the lack of discipline in his previous life and that he'd not adjusted to us, I was prepared to give the little fella a 2nd chance.
This situation is way too complicated to fully explain here. But trust me, both my Wife and I are very experienced dog handlers. The upshot is, he has now settled fully into his new home and regime with us. He CERTAINLY knows who is in charge, and it is absolutely NOT him.
He is now regularly exercised, trained, fed and loved; and has learnt to play fight without getting stressed, and I now fully trust him (as much as you ever really can) He has also earned his Gold Medal from the Kennel Club training scheme. He's not perfect, but I am really glad we did not just give up on the little chap. You see, it really was not his fault.
I really hope you find someone who knows what they are doing to take your mates dog on, otherwise I'm afraid it's got to be end for him.
