  1. We seem to have a lot of pigeons about in the old newton area, just as many as in past years. They are just harder to decoy around our area due to the abundance of rape about, over 250acres all on fields next to each other. We are constantly scaring large flocks of our fields in the morning and also in the evening as they are on there way back to roost. The past 2 weekends they have been roost shooting in my neighbours 60acre great wood and 3 or 4 smaller woods around it and i have heard plenty of bangs but have no idea on the numbers shot.

  2. The girlfriend was looking for a Scottish Terrier dog this time last year due to the death of her previous one. She found some pups for sale that were in the Newcastle area if I remember rightly. She called to enquire and got a very foreign sounding women who said the puppies weren’t actually with them there but were in the isle of man. She also gave nearly the exact same waffle/questions and that they would need all the same details as you have been asked for. Needless to say she put the phone down and went somewhere else.

  3. Had a driven day on a local farm today with 63 bag in total, i managed 4 pheasants and 2 partridge.

On another tomorow at another friends farm.

This first week of the new year is when i get most of my driven shooting days then again at end of january when the beaters days come up. :/

  4. :/ what because of Highlodge the other day, nice to see those lessons you had there a few days earlier paid off and got you used to the targets :lol:

Need lessons with the .410 me thinks :/:lol: Speaking of which did you manage to pick one up at Simpsons???

    SS

They had a few 410's in the shop all around £125 mark but nothing that i was really looking for! Not as easy to find as i thought either.

  5. Farmerguy.22 dont forget the problems of the firings pins shooting both cartridges at the same time on occasions and the ejectors occasionally popping out live cartridges instead of shot ones.

    :lol::lol:

I can remember both barrels fired together only once when shauny b was using it, and yup it did occasionaly chuck the live cartridge out, aswell as or instead off the fired one but in general the gun was good. It pointed nicely and had lovely engraving and wood on it. Not sure if it was only my gun that had the ejecting problems or wether it is universal on all bettinsoli's but i would buy another at the right price as it handled so nicely.

FB, you too thought it was a nice gun if i remember correctly?

  6. I went jap! Toyota corolla are good, ive got a standard 02 reg 1.4 corolla. Got it as my first car over 2 years ago and had nothing go wrong and it also shifts fairly well to. I love pulling alongside the saxo VTR's and clios with body kits galore and leaving them behind!!

Civic or Golf are also very good cars but i personaly would keep clear of Renault, Fiat, Vauxhall etc just from what friends have said about experiences with them.

As teal said, its worth paying that little bit more!!

  7. Who is that guy with the pink whistle is his mouth? A damn fine looking chap if ever I saw one.  :P:D:lol:

You're right, anyone that well turned out and well physically toned must be puff!

Looks like a good day.

He wasn't looking quite like that at the end, after having to walk all the way back to the yard even after the last drive had finished as nobody picked him up. Must be over a mile across sticky wet boot clinging fields. Poor chap. I blame it on the keeper not looking after his beaters enough!!!???

Was a great day, looking forward to the next.
