  1. Well it looks like you all had a blast, I must appologise for not being able to be around that much but sadly due to work i had to look after the horse trials down the road, Sparky and crew did a grand job running it all and im sure you will all be welcome back next year, If any of you have any picture you would like to share on Catton riflesports face book that would be great and i will pick a few and piut them on ther new riflesport web site when i get round to doing it,..... and if you havent had enough your welcome to come again this saturday ...

Straight shooting and see you all next year if not before.

  2. Sounds like you all had fun it does make it worth while when we get to hear about how you all got on. alot of work goes into the days and it would not be possible with out all the help I get and of course everyone turning up.

Sandra did say something about felling a giant in the horse box..... wasnt completly sure what she was up to but now it all makes sense, will look into to slip protecton for the next shoot.

    Cheers lads and lasses

  3. Hi Ian

Its basicly a chance to zero and practise in a realistic enviroment, we take over catton estate for the day, set out loads of different types of targets from animal images to metal reactive targets at 400 + yards and closer, plenty of chance to shoot as much ammo as you can bring, its not bench rest shooting or any sort of competion. just a group of like minded people improving ther skills and making some new mates along the way.

have a look at the web site www.cattonriflesport,co,uk

im sure there are plenty on here who could vouch for us as well.

  4. Clay Shooting Day................ just a few ideas if you are interested,

As some of you may realise we have just started up the simulated driven clay shoots on the Catton Park Estate Derbyshire , the venue for the last four years pigeon watch rifle shoots, the simulated game lorries were used on the event and all that shot them did seem to enjoy the thrill and speed of the targets produced.

Now could you lot handle a full day of this..... ?

5 drives all in different locations around the sporting Catton Park Estate using some of the actual drives used on the pheasant and partridge days,

all the drives are done to simulate game birds and normally end up with glowing barrels and happy faces. Some very high testing pheasants scores of fast partridge whizzing over your heads, we can also simulate ducks coming into a pond or pigeons dropping in on fields to feed . you never know what to expect other than a very challenging fun day,

The day starts with a Bacon cob and tea / coffee served in the Catton Hall Shoot room, a short briefing of what to expect of the day and you will all receive full safety equipment for you to use on the day and take away with you at the end of the day,

You will then all be taken to the first then second drive of the day in our gun trailer , so no need to use your own vehicle.

we then stop for elevenses .... a little sloe gin or a soft drink and a few nibbles.

then off to do a further 3 drives at the end of the day you will of had the chance to shoot at over 3000 clays and buy this time worked up an appetite so then off to a local pub for a steak dinner and a couple more guzzlers, vegetarian option available "a Carrot"

The basic day is booked around 14 people although this can be adapted or changed to your preference £180 per person cartridges not included, but we can supply them.

ALL cartridges MUST be fibre wad.

if any of your are interested in setting up a day then pass on your interest to fruitloop or myself, if there is more of you that would like to do this then I'm sure we could get the price down a bit,

look forward to seeing how this goes.....hunter.gif.pagespeed.ce.GRvNRKGFmJ.gifhunter.gif.pagespeed.ce.GRvNRKGFmJ.gifhunter.gif.pagespeed.ce.GRvNRKGFmJ.gif:yahoo:

  7. Looks like the banter has started all ready. Just to answer a couple of questions,

I will find you some logs to burn....... but I recon you lot like goin in the wood to "find logs" just don't pick up the wet ones.

As Far as dogs are concerned I don't mind as long as the usual .. clean up well behaved etc.... please note is a very noisy environment even for gun dogs and the amount of noise round the camp fire can get bad....

Hope to see you all there looking forward to seeing some old and new faces.....

any body got anything new that would like to try target wise let me no and will see what I can do.

    regards
