  1. I thought (hoped) this had died - oh well . .

Not sure about this one :good:

    Leica

They aren't up there with S+B etc but they aren't too bad either. There are probably some rubbish models but generally they're OK and better than the **** some people consider good. Personally I'm putting a S+B or Swarovski on my next rifle. After I've compared them.

  2. Here is a simple list of MOST of the top end scopes.

    Leupold (only VX3 and above)

    Swarovski

    Night Force

    Leica

    Schmidt and bender

    US Optics

    Mueller

    Burris (top end series)

    Zeiss

If you can afford any one of these you'll be more than happy with it! End of story!

What about Meopta and Hawke then? :good:

Yes I forgot Meopta, that is why my post says "list of MOST of the top end scopes".

Hawke aren't top end scopes. Not to say they're not good I have two on my air rifles.

Do you really think Hawke belong on the list alongside scopes like Swarovski and Night force?

  3. Just realised, I need another gun slip now too. :)

Mrs Lee wasn't too impressed.

Cheers guys. Really want to go shoot it NOW. ???

    Good stuff.

I was well on the way to persuading the misses I needed a new rifleuntil her dentist tol her she needs $6000 worth of dentistry. Great!

    Her teeth look fine?

She needs two root canals and some other minor things (not that two root canals are minor).

You thought that the NHS was bad!!!!!!! Oh!

The private dentistry is so expensive here!

  5. Salisbury keeper, your Korma isn't a Korma. It has very few ingredients in it that would make it one.

Personally making your own curry is much better and easier than you think.

You can use any meat for this one including Monkfish which works very well. I prefer Lamb or goat though.

Chop you meat and brown in plenty of vegetable oil (about 4-5 tablespoons if your after 3 or more serves)

Then add 2 tablespoons of Garam Masala and two of Turmeric. Quickly coat the meat then add a couple of very finely chopped onions as these will become the base of the sauce. Add some roughly chopped peppers or whatever veges you want including your chillies (one medium red chilli gives a nice bit of warmth or 4-5 birds eye chillis give you a kick. Then add 200-300ml of cream and chicken stock to just cover. Simmer this for 30 mins or until the meat is tender. (obvoiusly with chicken it'll only take 5-8 minutes and monkfish 4-5 mins). If it's getting dry add more stock. Try and use the cartons of stock rather than cubes. Finally add a large handfull of desicated coconut and allow it to soak up the sauce. Add a bit at a time otherwise you'll have no sauce left for your naan. To finish mix through some freshly chopped coriander and of course check you seasoning, if you can't taste the Garam Masala or you'd like it stronger simply mix through another tablespoon.

I've also added almonds to this curry before and would love to try almond meal instead of coconut.

This curry always amazes people. The secret is the balance of th spices, the cream and the coconut.

  6. carts £170 for 1000, 28g no8? Not over here! Ammo is cheap as!

Go on then, fill us all with envy, how much per/1000?

It depends what it is your after so around $310 (£144) per 1000 carts, you can go as cheap as $280. So actually not as cheap as i thought. I assumed it'd be cheaper than that. I very rarely shoot clays and don't own a shotgun but rounds such as .17HMR, .22-250, .223WSSM, .300WIN MAG and most of the other magnum calibres are about half to a third cheaper over here.

Popular calibres such as the .243 and .308 are dirt cheap, you can even buy from some petrol stations and camping shops.

  7. balls and socks more like. cant stand cats, but wouldnt do that to em

Martin, what is all this ball in sock nonsense all about?

Is it a fetish? Sounds a little too similar to fondling balls in a scrotum to me.....

NONSENSE!! NONSENSE!! ill have you know some of historys most famous battles have been fought and lost by ball and sock!!

a much favoured method of "dishing it out" in the 70's and 80's jails/young offenders institues. just wish they still used it, thats all.

    Just avin a giraffe!
