  1. ["went on a peice of waist land to zero it in"]

There is no such thing as 'waste ground'...........

It maybe common, rough, and unused, but somewhere out there will be an owner......... If you get caught on this land without written permission from the landowner, then you will be prosecuted.............simple. :)

I apologise if I've got it wrong, but I suspect that you are on land you are not suposed to be on......as you had no permission the other day...

If I am right, then I urge you to do the job properly................join the clubs, and getting knocking door.

Accidents are the only thing thats got in a hurry.......and as keen as you may be to get out hunting.....using local rough ground is not the answer

Seconded, paul did think that myself however you dont need written permission to shoot verbal is fine. However, if you don't know the landowner then you may find it a good idea, should any accidents happen.

Too true......but persoanlly I do keep a file in the car with all my insurances, and written permissions in, just incase I am questioned......................................sometimes you have to unfortunately vaildate your word!!!

buti m on my dads land.but its small.

  2. try looking on shootingshack.com for second hand pcp but there not listed on the sight and the phone number is on the website.phone and they will tell you what you can get in that price range, theyre very helpfull.

  3. the thing that worries me about this pellet lube is some cheap gun oils can carrode the blueing and cause more damage to your gun than there worth.are these lubes which are specificaly desighned to help grouping etcetc gun freindly?if i was you id read the previouse thread and just apply a few drops of high quality gun oil to your pellet tin.

  4. well i wraped it in bacon added a tablespoon of butter to the small baking tray along with half teaspoon of honey and half teaspoon of musterd.i basted it with the mixture.wow i carnt beleive how much it resembles steak.and with the honny it sort of glazes the bacon and meat.the only thing that put me off was the pellet hole stairing at me off the plate,as 20 mins after chopping up a stiff bird i was cooking it  i think ill slice the meat up in future and freeze it.but very nice overall taste i think the bacon helps keep it moist and brings out the flavours.i think a creamy peppercorn sauce with mushrooms or a red wine sauce would compliment this meat very well.keep the juices also for the sauce as the flavour from this is unreal.

  5. i was in turky on my hols 3 years back.was drinking brandy all day as it was cheap and like an idiot i got on a mountin bike and what dya know i came off.straight over the handle bars and smashed out my front teeth bit a marble sized bit of my tongue off had 4 stitches in my tongue and now got a porcilin bridge which i hate.mefookedupst4.jpg

  6. hey all.if any of you are into online games then id recomend joint opps escalation.its one of the best online multiplayer first person shooters.im currently 8th in the world.the game is only about a tenner to buy as its been out a while.check out novaworld.com.

  7. wow i did it and you get quite a descent sized breast from them.i was a bit worried id be sqeemish but it wasnt that bad no different from dressing a chicken.also id left it out side and it had not frozen but was easy to de breast.should the meat still be on the ribs?i had shot it in its heart but theres only a small hole in the breast,so no worries there.im gonna marinade it and wrap it in bacon for tonights supper:) :lookaround:

  8. any one got a guide on getting the breast meat out of woodpigeon and small game crows etc?i shot me one wigeon today and was thinking of marinading it with honey and musterd and wrapping it in bacon and roasting it.but dont want to damage what little meat ill get off it.

  9. got my xl tactical today.took a while to get used to the stock.but its growing on me.went on a peice of waist land to zero it in.was getting 2 inch groupings at about 40-50 yards.its a tidy little springer its ok when your crawling around stalking rabbits because its a synthetic stock and doesnt scratch easily.its not too heavy and you only here the spring when you fire it,but a bit of recoil.also loading it as any springer seemed to allert pigeon.saw many rabbits but my stalking skills still need working on.was laying near a warren and a fox came right in front of me think my realtree hardwood suit really works a treat, didnt take a shot at the fox as was worried that id just injure it.also squirrels wher just coming real close.after not bagging me a rabbit i went back along the woodline wher wood pigoens roost at dusk and bagged me a wood pigeon, which im gonna give my freind who ownes a goss hawk.dam time flies when your out there i was out from 10.30 this mornin till 5.30 tonight lol.im nearly there though when i saw one rabbit i crawled along to try and get in range but still need to learn how the targets react to my pressence.another rabbit also was just lucky to escape i think i hit it but not clean headshot.ive found some good sitty trees or roosting spots and also a good spot for squirrells, and the place was very active with foxes and rabbits.ill let you all know what the weirauch hw100 is like when i get it at the weekend.

  10. If you are shooting at air rifle ranges (and this is the air gun section so bear with me) then they have a use. When approacing .22lr or .17hmr ranges they are less useful (monoculars).

Obviously a pukka NV is a better choice but as you said more expensive.

If I had the money I would buy a monocular. I would use it to sweep the shoot and get into air gun range before turning the lamp on. Other than that I would use it to look at a "hot spot" whilst sitting up rather than using the lamp each time.

see i not got it all wrong.i was thinking of the same thing but im not gonna need lamps thats the beuty of it.also dont let strong light enter the lense or youll burn out the tube.gen 2 upwards have better tubes i think so there brighter.i only bought the monocula as im ****scared of the dark lol :welcomeani: but its the next gen of night hunting so its worth trying it now we have choice of this technologie.

  11. i found this really good site that you can search for local farmers in your area.you can get a phone number for the farms also an address.i thought this would be usefull rarther than knocking doors you could try this first.also you get a map of the land in question and address.if you double click the map or go to maps you can pin point a clear pictuer of any land anywer in the uk,even your own home.

    192 farmer search

  12. Have you got any land to shoot over yet?

got insured yesterday also getting some cards printed up.today i phoned local farms in the yellow pages left my number with several of them, one sounded real promising.my dad has a piece of land and theres lots of rabbits and vermin there but its small land.want somthing bigger that isnt as flat and fetureless.tonight im going door knocking, theres 6 local farms that i couldnt find the number for that have many vermin on so ill ask.im gonna keep at it,and the local kibworth air gun club said they get a few farmers asking for pest controll.im jst gonna stick at it till i find what i want.

  13. today i got the good old yellow pages out and looked under farmers.rang round one sounds really promissing.they said they had big problems with pigeons but yellow pages is a good way to ask the farmers without being to intrusive on there land and knocking there doors.left my number with 5 of them so far.but its a step in the right direction.

  14. Personally.........being a tight-wad...............to spend £2K on airgun gear is sheer madness.
