  1. Hatsan has accounted for a few more pigeons, geese etc and still no problems, dried it off, lubed it up then got out of me muddy, wet clothes and took a hot shower.

I do find it very interesting what people form their views on and how they think, the fact that just a few words can elicit some strong opinions from such a varied cross section of the masses gives me a quiet moment of thought.

And your thought was ? :hmm:

  2. Jesus, the bloke sat on the deck to your right looks like Nelson.

Why do people keep calling me "Jesus" or "Christ", he carried a staff to prod the sinners, I used a Vickers.303 and a 9mm Sterling. :shoot:

    And they called me "SIR"

  3. The idea of the snap-caps is that you put them in the gun and fire it to relieve the pressure on the firing pin springs. Putting them in without firing them is pointless!

However everybody has different opinion on whether they should be used or not, please don't start that debate, if you want more info then do a search on here!

Single trigger O/U's rely on the recoil of the first cartridge to swap over to the second barrel. What usually happens when the second barrel won't fire after the first is the the mechanism inside has got all sticky due to not being cleaned for years. Oiling it might fix the problem, if not it might require a strip and proper clean.

    Buy a HATSAN ??? ???

  4. Easy to change yes, but fiddly.

Butt pad off (2 posi head woodscrews!!) and a 13mm deep socket on an extension to get the nut off of the threaded rod coming from the action. A washer and a spring washer will also fall out. Remove old and put on new.

It is the washers that are fiddly, use a magnetic stick or, as I did, play hoopla with the big washer and put the small spring washer in a 15mm socket, lay the gun horizontal and push it onto the threaded rod, then put the nut on and tighten. :good:

    Cheers Richard,

A picture is worth a thousand words, but your words are better than a video. :thanks:

  5. Anyone know if it is possible to buy a pistol grip type stock like they have on the HATSAN MPA to enable me to change the stock on the ordinary Escort PS.

I know they show them on HATSAN website but not sure if EB will sell them

  6. I am thinking of getting a RED DOT scope for my .22 to use on the indoor range for Practical .22 and was wondering if they were any good for bunnies,it would have a 2x Mag or possibly a 3X Mag

  7. I wouldn't buy any of that lot. Don't trust anything Chinese so that rules out MTC et al.

The top end hawke is jap but still not great.

Trust me when I say that repeatable adjustments are worth far more than magnification. I shoot F/TR out to 1100 yards and I could do it with 10 mag and true adjustments, but there's no way I could do it with 32 mag and clicks not working right.

Weaver have good things said about their adjustments, but I've never shot them.

If it were me, I would have a look at the Bushnell 10x40 Elite. It has 100 MOA of adjustment which is essential for a 308 to 1K unless you want a canted base. Then 60-odd should do.

Reticle for target work, generally a cross hair is best, forget weird reticles designed for aiming off - you won't be at 1K, except maybe a bit for wind.

Have you looked at VORTEX SCOPES, you can get them in UK,company called NEWPRO UK LTD lifetime warranty,
