    Hi Tim,

Welcome to PW, glad to hear there is another keen shooter in Dorset, I live in Hertfordshire but my wife

is from Poole Dorset and we are reguarly down visiting her house and family, it would be good to link up

with another shooter and to find some pigeon shooting in the area. Like you I think pigeon shooting is the

best, I see your enjoying your new winchester sporting mk2, I like to use my Berretta Tekneys semi-auto,

let me know if you have been able to locate any quarry in the area.

  2. Hi.

    I live in East Yorkshire.

    Have 3 cocker gundogs.

Only shoot the odd pigeon and rabbit for gundog training, do about 30 days beating a year, buy 1 driven day a year and am a syndicate member of a small local shoot which I help out on, like to go rough shooting with or without the gun because working the dogs is what I like the best.

Looking forward to being a forum member

    Regards

    Dave

    Hi 'Cockerman59'

Welcome to Pigeon Watch, I had a cocker my self, was great at retrieveing unfortunately I lost him when

he ran out into the road in front of a car, very sad at the time, they are great fun and a real assett

    when out shooting.

  3. Where.? No... Ware! Welcome chap! Lots of good stuff on here :good:

Where? Ware you got it, thanks for the welcome guys. Anyone had any success pigeon shooting lately?

got pigeons going down on laid wheat and barley all around my area so went out last Saturday with a

pal to visit a farm I can shoot on that has a mix of linsead and wheat to see if we could find any,

out of four fields of wheat the pigeons were not going down on any!!! just have to wait until they

    combine these.

  4. Took a trip out yesterday on one of the fields that were sprayed off, 100's of pigeons in and out of the tracks left by the sprayer, but impossibe to shoot over, set up on the boundary of the field and put the rotary in the grass verge, pulled a few birds over but they were all way up, made for some good shooting though. Dropped 10 and 3 crows in about an hour, picked 6 as the rest were way out in the rape. Dog enjoyed a day out and made some very good retrieves. Roll on Tomorrow when the combines come out :good:

They have not started to spray or swath the rape in my part of Herts but I hope this warm weather will change that and that I can get on some

  5. Going to check out Codicote Bottom this weekend. See if I can find some of the Herts lads.
