second try at a picture of ultra SE
-

Ok had an exhaustive test this afternoon tried the jsb again and the ones I had that were labeled bis. Kept going back to accupel though (load skirt first worked a treat not one single jam, thanks Stu ) had the odd flyer with jsb plus the grouping is not as good as accupel.
This is 25yd 10 shots in each 1" outer left is jsb right is accupel same conditions.
This is 25yd five x 10 shots per 1" outer all accupel to see how many shots before groups start falling apart. First 10 was bottom right but photo is wrong way up, wind was right to left and it was bottom left target i started on if that makes any sense.( I was holding off due to wind but it died down a little for the next shots) then goes anticlockwise finishing in the centre bull. All tests prone off bipod. Only five shots in the centre one as Mrs and dog came out to see were i had been for the last three hours
Even though there was a bit of wind throughout I am not totally happy with the grouping even with accupel, my AA400 groups better than this. I think things may improve once barrell has had a few thousand through it.
Hi Ips early on in the post you mentioned the mod saying .22 some mods can be caliber specific some BSA mods have to have an insert changed to suit the caliber /Try some groups without the mod on to see if this makes a diffrence.

I had the same itch a few years ago . this is my ultra SE now after mods have been done one is the longer cylinder for improved shot count also a carbon shroud with built in silencer so very quite
hope you like.

the scorpion is a good rifle and for your budget you will be looking secondhand for a PCP set up.
all the best whatever you go with.

Advice please?
Currently running an AA S410 xtra FAC in.22. and using a rupture giving filling tank which is fine for everything but field use.
Thinking maybe, if cheap/easy of the possibility of a lightweight small bottle to fill from my big tank for out in the field?
The smaller the better?
Anyone?
Hi Old man
Have a word with Carl at airtech rifles ( Telford ) i know he dose replacement cylinders for the bsa ultra in larger sizes and also dose custom work.A replacement cylinder is about £50 and may give the increase in shot count you require.
good luck

Hi i had a R10 MK1 .22 which i had blue printed by John Bowkett it was faultless i sold it to a mate two years ago and he still has it. i then got the R10 MK2 in.22 and then in .177 and sold the .22 14 months in it started to loose pressure it was sent back to BSA and came back all it required was a buddy bottle seal !! i should of checked my self ( Idiot ) .All in all a great rifle. BUT i am a BSA fan!!! Ultra SE in 177
Scorpion SE in 177 Super 10 in.22 blueprinted by JB and a custom build by John Bowkett.
EVO you won't convert me to Daystate

The BSA super 10 is not a bad rifle if you are looking at something with a good shot count .they can be picked up for fair prices.and can be converted to F.A.C. .They have a fair reputation in F.A.C. format

eh Roger, don't you tell her lol, or I,ll tell ya missus youv,e got 10 rifles stashed in the attic,
are you still up for going on the 3rd bud
Yes Bob still up for it

cheers Bri, I,m sick of waiting for daystate to produce a decent FT rifle so ended up with an Air Arms Ev2, like many other new rifles on the block the older ones did have teething problems with the regulator but this mk4 has had allsorts done to it, its just had a full service and the reg is in tip top shape, I fired 50 shots through the chrono and it only had a spread of 9fps over the 50 shots which is certainly as good as my reg,d daystates, the rifle is shooting 11.7ftllb max which I,m happy with, I just need to drop the new sightron III 10x50x60 on top and get out and get the thing tuned in,also need to make a few adjustments on the rifle itself so as it is like an extension to my arm, it will take a few weeks getting used to it but so far its single hole groups to 30yrds , its motionless when you pull the trigger, basically the same as my electronic Airwolf, one thing I will say is the build quality is superb, its solid, have to say the side lever is super smooth and it makes the side lever on the hw100kt feel very cheaply made, there is no comparison, still prefer using a bolt but for target work the sidelever is a must,
the whole feel of the rifle is quality and to be honest I was very impressed when I first used one, I,m that impressed I might just buy myself an ftp900 as well
i hope your wife hasn't read this

Keep the rifle you love . And buy a second one. Then your twice as happy.

If you get in touch with nite site they sell screen filters . Alternatively i have used the kits you get for tinting car windows but don't go to dark it makes it hard to see the screen.By the way you do have to trim this to size and you will have enough to do it about 80 times

try just turning night vision on at intervals and scanning to see where things are . Rather than walking round with it turned on .

Hi Roger
Thanks for the prompt reply, looking to do a load of ratting and rabbiting.
Will look into building one or making one myself.
See you live on the Wirral, currently shooting by myself always looking to get out, have 4 permissions if interested
Brgds Steve
Hi Steve where are you located .i am in the Ellesmere port area.

hi i had the ND 3 laser also had the NS 50 nite site. Ii then met Evo off here and he made me one of his night vision kits . it was three times better than the nite site and no comparison to the laser. i would go for a home build night vision kit. or plenty of people building them now.

haha! cheeky beggar! that's a mate gone when he realises how much they normally go for!
Well played you. let us know how it goes
Hi Chris
For an extra £60 i got an Evo T20 night vision kit thrown in. worked out well he got the cash he needed urgently i got a bargain.Had the rifle up to the range likes the same pellets as the ultra grouping well at 40 yards . I'am still smiling. Or should i say laughing.

Tuesday morning i received a txt from a mate who said he was selling his Scorpion SE did i know any one who may be interested. A quick reply asking how much he wanted and i would ask around. Reply !! do you reckon £200 for a quick sale sounds all right. After picking my self up i said ill give you £240 for a quick sale. Deal done. With it i got a scope silencer bipod bag and pellets . Still pinching my self thinking ive had a dream.
First Air Rifle - opinions please?

As suggested an AA410 look on freeads there is one on there that looks in good condition with scope silencer and bag at £440 . this would still leave cash in the budget for a pump.
