  1. My ultra se is at its height of power from 180bar and returns 29 full power shots and drops away after that, if we are at the range then 50 shots with a slight aim adjustment to compensate its fine, I'd try the 180 bar fill but you wont know until you chrono it what your sweet spot is, top power this gun achieves btw is 11.4 with ftt's,

  2. looking excellent, I do prefer it with the brass mod, but when you said gun porn I thought it was a daystate :yes:

  3. The prairie is a cracking gun, first had having used one many times, lovely and light, very quiet and a really nice gun to shoot with, I looked at a kub down the local gun shop matey tried telling me it was the latest thing but a quick search when I got home it seemed it was discontinued? Iv got an s410 had it for years and wouldn't change it for anything else......well maybe a hw 100 but it would be a close call

  4. So the usual 6.30 rendezvous for coffee and the weekly catch up and by seven we were at this weeks destination, a rather posh house and grounds with and I quote a plague of bunny rabbits...... So 5 ferrets ready to rock n roll we put the long net up and pursed a few holes in a big bank, within a few seconds first rabbit in the bag, followed by a lay up showing 12 feet, in the adjoining grave yard, hmmmm and as it would have to be church was starting any second so all we could do was have a coffee and wait it out, after a little while he surfaced so due to circumstances we moved onto the next warren, these ******* refused to bolt, showing at the nets and really giving my two gills the run around we managed 5 out if that one and for a small bury the population in it is quite surprising, then after a sloe gin with the land owner off we went to my normal hunting grounds, and that was not without amusement,we started an a small 5 hole warren,my dog got a bit carried away marking and disappeared into a hole.....ooops, managed to pull him out as soon as the ferret went down 2 bolted together out of said hole so as usual jack was spot on all be it a bit eager, following that was a super rough hedge which only produced 2 more one requiring a 2 foot hole for the prize, we had a laugh which at this time of year, for me anyway is the main thing, roll on a good frost my arms are still stinging this morning lol

  5. Hi all the time of year is almost among us again for frosty cold mornings and cut to ribbons in brambles,

I am looking for a ferreting partner, or three to make a gang of 4, I want a reliable person/people with kit and ferrets who can come at least twice a month on my permissions.no shooting or dogs just going ol fashioned ferret n nets, message me if you are interested

  6. When we talk about damage caused by Hares I get a bit confused.... Hares V Rabbits? anything taken responsibly is fine, but if you feel the need to hunt something until it's locally extinct, my challenge would be to start on the rabbit or wood pigeon... What I'm trying to say is, just because there's lots about now, doesn't mean that it will always be that way, a change in farming practices can make a dramatic change, locally there has been a huge increase in the growth of Myscanthus (Elephant Grass, Bio Fuel) which is great for Starlings to roost in and Muntjack to hide amongst....

Whatever you are doing try a be mindful & leave

    something for tomorrow.

    Bloody farmers eh ruin everything

  7. Farmers been out cutting all the hedgerows last week so it was impossable to net,so we bolted using the ferrets & shot from 12pm till 2:30pm,8 rabbits,However something strange happened at one of the sets.I put the jill in a hole but she hesitated, gave her a little push, with in about 10 seconds we herd a yelp which i think was her.She came out with her hackles up which i've never seen before. But there was a very strong odour which none of us had smelt before, also she seemed to want to clear her nostrils.

We came to the conclusion that she was possably confronted with a stoat/weasal, and either her or the whatever had let their scent glands go in defence. There certainly was no indication of a fight. Was wondering if any of you ferring lads or lasses had came across this?

Iv had this before, luckily it was my big dog (net trasher) he came out attached to as stoat,he had a nasty bite to his neck but both over it, bloody glad I had as glove on when I reached into other hole to grab him,
