Even the Yanks seemed to lose interest in the place in it's final years.

    Cat.

I believe PU ******** the base off to the point they also wanted it closed, as well as Elveden Estates ;).

As someone else that has shot there for over 20 years, the last time about a month ago (when more than half the traps were out of order) to be honest I am glad it has finally been put out of its misery.

  2. Be warned fit it yourself and you have a fire as a result your insurers may not pay out, they are always looking for any excuse not to.

What, you mean like you do a rubbish dangerous job of installing a stove/flue yourself, burn your house down through your own stupidity or penny pinching, then expect your insurer (and therefore other policyholders) to pay for all that? Insurance is not a dustbin for people's Darwin Award efforts ;).

  3. Now safely back with his owner.

    Did he escape or stolen???

I just heard. Absolutely brilliant news, it's been hanging over my head all weekend so God knows what Bob must be feeling!

I'm not sure of the details yet but appears he escaped from a 'compound' (so probably dumped ), and was found by someone who had seen it on Facebook.

I told Buzz's mum (the bitch we bred Buzz from) the good news but she wasn't bothered as she had got fed up with the litter at about six weeks anyway :D

    Height; 2.2m

I know all about that one, take no notice of Witham's advert, if you call them you find it is £14,000 plus VAT. And it will need a LOT of work ;)

  5. Spoke to someone on a shoot who has one, he is getting calls weekly offering shooting as they do so little damage and go everywhere. I am so so jealous, what a cracking little shooting wagon

Noting your location, that'll be Will? ;)

Very low ground pressure, the tyres run at just 5psi. Because it is a wider track than a Landie, I fill their ruts back in again :)

  6. Nice toy but slow and cold. It would take hours to cover the ground.

Be good for feeding etc but i dont know about lamping unless the area is small.

Eh? It does 35mph. I've never needed to lamp that fast ;)

hi mate nice motor. hows the semi auto beretta?

    atb jim

    Hi Jim :)

It's very handy, ta. It probably comes out of the cabinet as much as anything else! :)

  7. mint and about £10k second hand looked at them before top speed 40 mph would be pain on road though

£10k? I wish........You won't even get an ex Witham vehicle that needs a lot of work for that :(

    Does it swim David?

Yes. Around 700mm wade depth, then it floats. It has two bilge pumps, as the hull can't be 100% watertight. Outboard on the tailgate, and away you go ;)

nice motor :good: ,but i like things that keep the weather out......................and a heater.

The radiator and oil coolers are under your seat. I was out on my quad in -15 last year, it's better than that :D

  8. The quad is gone........long live the Alvis Supacat :)

Ex British Army, last saw service in Afghanistan, retired in 2010.

6 wheel drive, VW 1.9 TDI engine/auto box, front four wheels steer conventionally, plus it has skid steer.

Very light on the ground due to the flotation tyres.

There's a winch under the cover behind the seat in case I have to rescue anyone (or myself redface.gif).

  12. Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50 Tactical LR/T IR scope.

    Illuminated Mildot reticle.

    Target turrets.

    Unmarked condition.

Fitted with Butler Creek front flip up cover.

Selling for an RFD friend as target scopes/shooting aren't his thing or client base.

I toyed with the idea of buying it and tested it at 700 yards on Saturday (hand held) against my MTC Viper, Bushnell Elite 4200 4.5-25x50 and Swarovski Habicht 4-16x50 to give a comparison right across price ranges, and clarity wise and sharpness on target at that distance it was up near the Swarovski. It really is that clear.

I need a scope to go 1200 yards on my .308, and for my eyes x25 mag was marginal for that, I'd prefer x32 so I shan't buy it.

Sportsman currently have these on offer at £1,414 (RRP £ 1,760).

No box or papers (the RFD originally saw them, and by the time it came in the chap's wife had thrown the box and everything else away ).

Hence bargain price £785 posted mainland UK.
