  2. Hi,

I am looking to get a London oil finish on the stock of my Beretta,I have had two quotes so far one at £140, and one at £450, just a bit confused as to the huge difference in price.

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith or individual, capable of doing the above,I am quite happy to travel from Bedfordshire,

    Thanks

  3. Just a quick heads up guys, as you are all probably aware there is at this moment in time a petition standing at over a hundred thousand signatures asking parliament to debate banning driven grouse shooting, I personally have never been on a grouse moor and might never get the chance, but I do think it would be only a matter of time for other branches of the sport to come under the spot light if this ban was successful

There is a counter petition in place, called "protect grouse moors and grouse shooting" less than ten thousand signatures at the moment but gaining momentum, sorry I don't know how to do a link on here, just think it would be a good idea for everyone to get behind it,

  4. Is it just me, or has anybody else spotted the huge mistake that Mr Packham and Dr Avery have made? Their petition is not to ban grouse shooting, it is to ban Driven grouse shooting,if it ever did get banned the moor could revert to a walked up grouse shooting moor or a grouse shooting over pointers moor, these lesser known sports would still be totally legal, and the loop holes would be endless.

  5. Hi guys,

I am thinking of buying a beretta 690 sport, it's about a eight months old,I plan to use it as an all rounder, ie clay shooting and driven game.

My question is can it be fitted with flush fitting chokes? I can't stand those things that stick out of the barrels!

    Thanks

    Andy

  6. Bruno22rf,

I know exactly what c.n.c means my friend,I was a cnc programmer for many years, and before that I served my apprenticeship on manual machines,Bridgeport etc,I totally agree with you, the best guns are hand finished, but you ain't going to be getting one for fifteen hundred quid mate!

  7. With respect, that is complete rubbish Mr tightchoke,

An older secondhand Berretta or Browning, could have been subjected to all manner of ill use, dropped or damaged and thousands of cartridges put through it,

The William Powell is brand new and made on state of the art cnc machinery,

  8. Define " better" Mr tightchoke?

The William Powell has got " better" wood than any silver pigeon or Browning at a similar price, the metal work is at least equal to that of a Beretta or Browning of a similar price,

Interested to hear how you define "better"

  9. Hi,

I was looking at it from a slightly different angle,I know they are re badged Rizzini over and under shot guns, but I fancied something a little different from the hordes of silver pigeons etc, this purchase will be my last gun I won't sell it,depreciation therefore is not an issue.

  10. Just a quick heads up,

I was looking at these guns which are basically a Rizzini B over and under at the game fair last year, at the time they being sold at around £2000, on William powells web site yesterday they were selling for just over fifteen hundred pounds each, must make them a bargain I am sorely tempted.
