  1. Yesterday my SGC arrived from Essex Firearms Dept, this was delivered 11 week's after I applied for it and only with the help and assistance of BASC's Firearms dept, thank you Matt for your help in this fast result.

So today I went and collected my Miroku Mk38 Teague Sporter from Eastern Sporting in Chelmsford, the process took over an hour as Alan ran me through everything from assembly, maintaining the gun in perfect condition and every other item you could think of asking, and ask I did believe me, I had already been fitted for the gun a few weeks ago so I knew that I was already going to be ok with it size wise etc.

I would like to thank all those involved for the information forwarded during my initial question's into what I should be looking for to progress with my clay/sport shooting.

Again many thank's to all involved.

  2.

The single speeder is an old Cannondale Mountain Bike that I converted last year, use it for going into town etc.

The Cannodale Synapse is for eating up a few miles around the lanes.

The Storck was my retirement present to myself last year and get's used on a daily basis for long miles of fitness training.

Hope you like what you see.

Yes very much, that's an excellent stable of bikes there !

Thank's for your comment, all good bike's for different time's.

Bit like the gun's we use,a different size for different day's shooting.

  4. Back on the subject of your application/medical, did you contact BASC ?, I contacted them yesterday by email about a problem with the same department and had a reply back the same day saying that they had been in touch and that the departments manager would be contacting me asap, that is a lot more than I have had out of them in the last 6 weeks and also shows them that someone else is concerned at their rate of turnover "or not as they say".

I await their response, thinking of which I must get some straw for the Hedgehogs hibernation box!!

  5. Been pacing my son for the past few weeks but his training program includes late nights, beer, tab's and not refraining from female delights, on the last run out I was left wondering why he expects to gain a good time/finish.

Me, can't stand crowds so have no interest in cycling with 24k others, get more satisfaction from doing my own thing and I donate to the Willow Foundation on a regular basis, look it up and donate.

  6. Is your own Doctor not "Independent", it's not like he's unqualified to make a report on you as he has done in the past no doubt when you have had any type of illness, get in touch with BASC even if you have to join up it's cheaper than £300, their advice and a guide as what you can do to appeal this situation that Essex Firearms Dept are putting you and many others through. Why can they not except your own Doctors report about your situation, the only thing they are doing is adding to the stress that you may or may not be now suffering from, they need a good shake up and need to get on with the job in hand which is clearing a massive backlog that they, and only they have caused.

Best of luck, I thought I had it bad whilst waiting 5 months + for my FAC to come through seems they have only got worse.

  7. Bought some sort of Japanese spanner today by the name of Miroku, it's a big one at 30" and has loads of other bits by someone called Teague, not sure if it will fit into the spanner box but it's very well engineered as required so it's bound to get lots of use when servicing the Clay/Pigeon autorama machine, hope there's not any squirrels out there as they will have their nuts ruined by a truly awesome spanner.

Many thanks for advice and guidance Scully and at times biased pinions from many others.

  8. Nest of viper's come to mind, upgrading because it's got nice "wood" cannot cut it for myself, do you think the pigeon/clay notices this when it falls out of the sky ?, gauge, lop, barrel length all do it for me, remember when Skoda were deemed only of value when the tank was full!! Look at them now.

Time move's on but not for some it would seem, sorry I even asked.

Last input on this, goodnight and god bless.

  9. Went out on one of my permissions today and during that an old friend turned up, conversation got around to which sort of gun for this and that when he told me he "only" had Beretta's and Browning's, when asked why he said because everyone else that he shoots with had them ?

Asked him what model/type they were and he did'nt know! err Silver Pigeon Mk2, Semi Auto, 2 Browning's not sure which !!

Seem's as though there's some peer pressure out there meaning that you have to have what's seen to be "The Gun" to be seen out there with when shooting/posturing.

When I spoke with my local RFD later his opinion was much like mine the gun fires the shot, you aim it , if you miss that's your fault, 6k gun look's nice, 1k gun still kills things if your aim is on target, with the amount of shells that most of us/you would pump through during a season I still cannot fathom why you must have "The Gun" as opposed to one that still gets a result without breaking your bank account.

Take into account that the 3 most popular cars in England are Ford and Vauxhall, not Audi,BMW,Lambo. They get you from A to B and only cost what you can afford, point taken!!
