you could build a hide around yourself and place it attached you your head that way you can stalk then sit and shoot, a sort of stalking hide.

Really, there is a lot of c**p talked regarding cammo. A cheap jacket from an army surplus is more than adequate. Even a dark barbour, moleskins and tweeds work pretty well. - Concentrate more on tactics!!

Hi,
With a FAC airgun you can easy take heartshots too. With my airgun .25 56fpe shooting Bisley Pest Control pellets, the woodies go straight down (very dead). Sometimes I shoot one BIG lethal hole through the chest of them (double size of .25) also making them drop dead instantly. This case of a hole right through the birds punctures the theory that a pellet should stop within a quarry to get a clean kill. This case shows it is more about ripping tissue and veins over to get a clean kill, no "dumping of energy effect".
Never shoot a woodpigeon from straight on in the center of the chest - you don´t have the power to penetrate the breastbone and the crop behind it. To do this, you need a least a high power rimfire or even more firepower !

I can not believe some of the answers to this topic. Some of you people are allowed out with a rifle, I wouldn't trust you lot to handle my pecker, I thought population control was about humane dispatch. Some of you are describing scenes from a Quentin Tarrantino movie.

I find if you really want the pigeons aim for the most easiest part on the pigeons body, the wing, i shoot the wing most times if they are far away because you can never normally miss, then just chase them because the cant really run fast then ring there neck.

I would like to bring to everyones attention that 1 of 5 is spreading his know all expertise to other forums, it must be wonderful to be so knowledgable, even more so than the experts whom get paid to pass on their knowledge. 1 to 5 needs to listen more and keep his big mouth opinions to himself. I hope you will all read this and be aware of the man in question as I do not believe he knows as much as he claims and this post will be deleted because it offends the sensativities of some power crazed administrators.

I have to say I agree with "NoMercy" this forum is full of two faced *** kissers always blabbing on about the anti's and to scared to speak your mind. So what if anti gunners read the thoughts of air gunners and they don't like what thay say...Do you really give a **** ? One thing with this forum is you all need to lighten up, if I was as uptight as you lot I'd turn my gun on myself, naturally someone will read this and suggest I do, all I can say is "How original". I personally feel that pigeon shooting is for pussies anyway (talking of which, how are you 1 of 5), I prefer shooting rabbits coz if you miss and they come after you, lets face it your dead. Bottom line moderators need to stop banning people for speaking their mind, thats what a forum is for, personally I think it gives them some sort of power high and if they need to show their power I believe they are more of a risk with a rifle than anyone that isn't afraid to speak their mind.
Get a life or try a sport less upsetting to your high morals

hi, im new to this site but ive been shooting for a while, various ditterent forms of gun, but at home i have 3 air rifles my favourite being a bsa something or other with a gamo scope on it!!!!!
anyway, im after a bit of help/advice, i want a crossman ratcatcher, however, i dont want to pay full price for one as im unsure of their shooting capability ect, whats the best way of getting one second hand??? is any one on here selling one? are there any other sites i should take a look at??? if i dont get the rat catcher i may be looking at a fairly cheap co2 pistol? any ideas on that too?

Try Blackpool Rifle Shop (Brilliant & excellent secondhand gear). I would also say don't waste your money on a Ratcatcher, they are very flimsy but very accurate at close range. You have to understand it is ideal for it's purpose but the scope is **** and only good up to 10 yards and the scope mounts on mine snapped as when I tried to adjust the scope the allen key screws had worn down too easily. I also found that the scope rail does not reach the end of the rifle due to the position of the pellet loading point. As a result I personally felt uncomfortable my neck being at an awkward angle whilst lining up a shot.
Hope this helps but discourages you from wasting your money.

I am not endorsing people breaking the law this includes myself. One of the points I made was "I did not give a rats *** for legal limits" and I still don't, however I do abide by the law and always will. It doesn't change the fact the legal gun users are being driven into a corner and being made to suffer the consequences of the law breakers of this country. The government needs to show the people they are taking a hard stance on gun control and the easiest way to do this is target the people whom they know own rifles etc. I do not believe one new law has changed the illegal firearms use in this country. It doesn't change my opinion of the dogooders like the pillock who starts quoting drink driving, what he should have done first is taken an english lesson and re read my post

As you can see the topic as titled has had more views than any I can see but this was not an issue for the forum moderator I was harrased by 1 to 5 with offensive e-mail yet he complained to the moderator and I was barred from the forum. So much for innocent till proven guilty.
Anyway I had good chats with some of the members sadly the moderator is a moron. I will be barred from this forum as frank555 very soon but I will be back see you all soon
