  1. Hi,
As in the title I am in the market for a Blaser 12G shotgun.
Would prefer 32" barrels and needs to be in very good condition with nice wood irrespective of age.
Want a bargain but do have cash waiting for the right gun, thanks

  2. Just thought i would share my experience on here so that some others might benefit, don't really know if this is the right place but here i go.

I recently (2 weeks ago) ordered some Hornady .204 rifle brass to start reloading from Countryman of Derby, i was very disappointed when they arrived to find three with split necks and another with a pin hole on the case that i didn't notice until i had loaded the round.

That very same day the same RFD contacted me re the arrival of my new GRS Berserk rifle stock i had ordered about 3 weeks prior so i decided to travel and collect it, and complain about the brass at the same time.

Countryman was very good and since i had loaded the remaining brass offered me a small discount on a ammo box i was purchasing but said that even if they had complained to their supplier or Hornady they never get an adequate response.

I did a bit of forum trawling and the opinion was much the same even in the USA when trying to complain to Hornady, not to be put off i visited their website and sent them a polite complaint re the quality of this product i had received, a week went by with no response!

Imagine my surprise today went i came home to find a parcel from EDGAR BROTHERS who i presume are Hornadys importers, with double the amount of rifle brass i had originally purchased inside. I still have had no correspondence but on the delivery note enclosed it says "sent foc as requested by Hornady".

Got to admit, its kept me a customer of theirs.

  3. Just replaced the beautiful Walnut T3 Hunter stock with one that i wont be worried about scratching when after charlie, I am very choosy but would describe the stock as in very good condition with just a couple of tiny marks (seen worse on new guns in racks) full pictures can be emailed. Just been fitted with two new sling/bi-pods screws too.

The stock will fit all the T3's without the varmint barrel i believe?

£120 posted or collect from Wakefield West Yorks.

Also i have a CZ 455 Thumb hole stock i removed from my rifle to replace with a Boyds Evolution again good condition with some minor marks, again sling/bi-pods screws fitted, pictures can be emailed. This stock does take the varmint barrel.

£70 posted or collect from Wakefield West Yorks.

  4. Where are you located? My shooting partner had a full .204 set-up including some good dies, but passed away in Nov 2014.

I've sold quite a few of his other things with proceeds going to his widow...

    I've at least:

    Lee press

    Forster dies

    Balancing beams

    Powder

I also shoot .204 and reload, and wouldn't go back to factory ammunition again. We both bought 120 rounds of factory ammo between us and still have most of my share as we reloaded straight away.

Only yesterday morning i went and bought a Lee anniversary kit :/, Benchmark powder and some Sierra BlitzKings in 39grain after a guy on here sold me some dies, I'm in Yorkshire too so a little far away.

I would definitely be interested in your reload data though, especially since i notice you shoot fox with your 204 particularly which primer, powder and bullet heads you found the best?

Also what is the factory ammo you have left if you wanna sell? and how much you looking for? a couple of shooting buddies still only shoot factory and we are traveling to Norfolk in April/May so would be passing.

    Thanks in advance :good:

  5. If you're getting the 204 for the advertised high velocity, get a long barrelled one. The 20" barrels will only give you around 3800 fps not 4200 fps as advertised

    Andy

Thanks for the reply Andy, only needed for foxes and maybe from the car so 20" would have been perfect, tried the Tikka on the Stalking directory and hes been offered more than the advertised price, bidding war! so back to top please and still looking.

  6. Hi Nige,

I am another Barnsley lad although moved to the darkside (Wakefield), would definately give Park Lodge a try, just off the Selby road tother side ov Donny, theres loads of clay shoots alternative Sundays in West Yorkshire/South Yorkshire, best place to find out would be Red Beck shooting supplies Wakefield, he has a board outside with all the details.

  7. Probably propped it up with the mag and bolt in for a good picture.

No need to give the fellow a lecture. Yes if you pick up a gun in a shop or a mates gun. Then yes assume it is loaded.

But if you check and your mag is empty and there is nothing in the chamber then there is no need to assume anything as you know the gun is clear.

I am sure this lad checked. Store with the bolt and mag out and check it's unloaded but for a picture this is fine!

He might be waiting for Santa coming down the chimney! now theres a pest this time of year.

  8. Hi all,

Just joined what looks like a great web site, really interested to pick up and share knowledge, speaking of which did the title get your attention?

Owned shotguns for a number of years but recently got permission on 1000 acres of mixed farm land in Yorkshire so just purchased my first rifles for pest control, loads to learn though! :hmm:
