  1. question, how come on my land rover when i got it there were holes in it for the key lock, with the new doors i got there wasnt, WHY?

when i ordered a full new set of door handels/locks they were different to the originals,WHY?

but as it happened they fit as the new doors did not have any holes in,

the back door is the original one and still has its hole so the new lock is no good as when the lock is in the hole is redundant, i was thinking clean old lock up or buy a new one, i just dont see whats with all the change.for a new lock and striker its looking like £50 :hmm::hmm:

Due to their age ie later on in the Series 3 range, Countys came with anti-burst door locks. Hence needing separate holes in the doors. :)

  2. after work i decided to try put the glass in the other side, this time rather than do it with i took it off as it was to hard trying to get them tiny screws into the channel and then finding the hole with about 1mm of it between my fingertips, so off it came, bottom 2 channels in, side 2 channels in, flipped it over and put the top 2 channels in :good::good:

***** id forgot to put the glass in  so out came the to 2 channels in went the glass and screwed the screws back in, jobs a good un :good::good:

put the side back on the rear tub and spotted this :oops:

    any guesses??

    No window latches?

  3. Fantastic job on the restoration of this CSW! Just following up after finding this thread back in March.

This may or may not be of interest to you, but re the rear window tracks, these are usually felt. Felt traps water and overtime rots and grown moss etc.

Rocky Mountain do rubber tracks as an alternative. Ok it's not original -and at £80, and investment; but it also means that you won't be replacing the tracks in x years...

Guide about replacement - although you know these vehicles inside out now :)
