  8. W W Greener Martini Action 12g Shotgun

    Using the BNP Crown proofmark i have dated it Birmingham 1954 or later (it also helps to somewhat confirm that it is an original Greener) and using the link yoy gave me i have pinned it down to late 1950's early 60's (the date letter is visible but as it is on the barrel slightly deformed)

     

    Does anyone know what MK this would make it probably MK3 me thinks?

    I have just purchased a W W Greener Martini Action 12g Shotgun, i wiould like to find out a rough date of maufacture and possibly the grade and mark.

     

    Greener want £25 for the pleasure of checking the serial number against their records, but i wondered if anyone had a copy of the book -The Greener Story- they could check in for me?

    no matter how many people you ask you will always get the people who have never had any problems with the escort and then you get the ones who have. Be carefull if your looking at other options in a gun room say for instance a beretta 301 semi auto for the same price the shop owner will always push you towards the escort because of the commission/proffit they get. hope this helps

     

    I would argue against that last point, a gun shop owner will steer you towards the second hand gun, you make next to nothing on new guns.

     

    If you wanted to choose between the Escort or the beretta, then go for the one which suits the shooting you want to do, but I have had no problems with the Escorts at all.

    I am looking for a 12 or 16 bore side by side with 28 or 30" barrels.

     

    In goodish condition (no pitting) doesn't matter whether single or double trigger but would like a stock around 14 1/2" and prefer worcs/b'ham area for easy collection. Obviously got sgc

    Yes I am the RFD that helped Gibby out, he wanted to send a parcel and had problems with Royal Mail, so offered him the use of my TNT account.

     

    My company is called Shooting Party www.shootingparty.co.uk and we have a small gunroom on the estate I keeper at between Bath and Malmesbury. We are the UK Showroom for WW Greener and really trying to promote the British Gun Industry before it all fades away to machine made Italian, Spanish and Turkish guns (not that there is anything wrong with these guns but "British is Best"). As we are small, customer service is key and if we can help our customers, and will do our best to strike a good deal.

     

    Customer service is King!!

    I have dealt with Gibby quite a lot in recent weeks, I am his local RFD and find him throughly honest and good guy, loves his guns and likes buying and selling, I know this has made him nervous about remote selling from the calls at 11 oclock last night to help him out and you wouldnt meet a nicer bloke, shame someone tried to rip him off

    While i was waiting on my fac coming i was ringing around to see who stocked what ammo and prices etc.found a guy selling S&B 17hmr, this was a couple of months ago he was looking 6 or 7 quid for 50, happy days i thought can,t wait,phoned him today he,s now looking 11 quid, you know were he can stick them,

     

     

    Spoke to Edgar Brothers, They are not being made at the moment due to a case defect
