Checked the feeders again, plenty of squirrels around, feed is going down .... so should be a good first shoot.

Jays and Magpies in the area too, so plenty of fly tying materials soon.

I have had one contact for the shooting of vermin, hopefully something will come of it, however all gone quiet at the moment.

Sounds promising. If you’re using peanuts, jays will empty your feeders pretty quick too.

well I have google maps and I can still zoom in and if you right click on the map it gives you the option to measure distance, never found any use for the compass.

Same. I use google maps, in satellite mode, for all my shoot planning and measuring etc.

    Will do.

    Watched this:

FX Crown Harmonic Tuning Guide (youtube.com)

Seems pretty straight-forward and adjusting the internal hammer spring once is going to be the be all and end all of my fiddling.

I couldn’t get a consistent shot string on my MkII Crown using the Meathead Marksman process. He seems to choose a pressure then try make his gun work at that pressure.

For a tight spread you need find the right balance between pressure and hammer at the velocity you require. I found the process described by Sub12 Airgunner got my FPS spread much tighter. It’s demonstrated for sub12 but the process is the same no matter what fpe you’re aiming for.

I got my .25 crown averaging 920FPS on a full magazine and a nice tight spread following the YouTube link below.

  4. I have a .177 Phox. I’ve floated the barrel and used the screw from the clamp to modify the trigger. Vastly improved the trigger and the accuracy is spot on with the BSA barrel.

if the pigeons are there ....they are curious by nature.....how many do you plan to put out ?

They’re definitely about! I haven’t even bought any decoys yet. Will 10ish do the trick?

Do they count on their fingers and toes?
