  1. been there a couple of times now and id move there like a shot if i could, i love the island ,the people and the way of life out there, they even drive on the same side of the road as us. stayed in larnika both times and went to most places including pathos, troodos mountains, ahya napa, took in boat trips etc. everything is extremely well priced and the food is to die for. there nothing bad about the place that i know off and the weather is just fantastic if you like it HOT.

if you go to the troodos mountains at the top there was a little market and one of the stalls sell this home made orange wine....if its still there get some itll blow your head off  i will be going back as soon as i can(wanna show the family), with luck i wont be coming back ??? have a great time there mate

  2. S200 all the way mate! My first pcp was a 2nd hand S200 with the 10 shot magazine system, AA silencer and an adjustable butt pad I picked up for about 200 squid all in.

Bloody accurate gun (match grade barrel), very lightweight, good shot count (even in .177) I used mine for hunting and could easily despatch the bunnies at respectable distances.

I even changed the stock on mine to a black thumbhole one. In fact, if I didnt have an Air Ranger now, i'd have another S200 any day.

    Hope this helps mate :good:

The top rifle is my old S200

gotta agree get a 200 mate :good: i got a 2nd hand mk1 for 200notes and its not missed a beat, you can get 1/2"unf adapters from the likes of rowan engineering so it can take a weihrauch or similar silencer, theres several differant multi shot kits for them and plenty of other 'bling' items to choose from, and the fellas on the air arms owners club are a superb bunch too....i know -im one of them lol

    lee

  3. Well guys thanks for all your help i have now been denied access no reason given?

  6. 3~4 mag is about optimum for air rifle hunting ranges.

However if your intending to enter competitions the norm can be anything up to 32 mag for superior rangefinding with a lot of fiddling about.

ive a 3-9x50 and its always set at 6.5....works well for me

  7. a ban on air guns what ever next.

its not the gun that needs banning its the person holding it that needs sorting out, unfortunatly in this country its a case of legislation not solution and these people always hear the bad side of a story first the sad fact is that sooner or later people like us will get more taken from us untill these idiots get what they want in full

    lee

  8. not really sure what you are wanting to know? i assume you want to know which pellets are suitable for an fac class air rifle, well the simple answer is whichever suit your rifle! each gun varies so finding an ammo that gives a nice grouping at the range you want and you feel comfortable using is pretty much your answer, if you have .177 or .22 you will have a choice of hundreds of types where as if you have a .20 or a .25 there is a lot less choice.

my advice is to test a few different ones until you find one you like.

i would assume that a heavier pellet would be best suited for high volocity aplications...such as logun penatrators or piledrivers...but as stated by salisburykeeper its best to run your own tests to find out what suits you and your gun best

    lee

  9. Orrible weather is snow and winter is pants. Its ok for ski slopes  Bring on the sunshine and the 90c plus weather and holiday time

id have to go with snow the more the better  , shame we dont seem to get any over here thats worth mentioning

  10. Thanks to Snipper I have been able to discover that the gun is a Diana Mod 1! The calliber issue is still on going because it wont take .177 darts or pellets although i have had some information about 'slugs' which are slightly smaller in diameter?

Any info on the slug matter would be greatfully apreciated and thanks very much to Snipper!

    Cheers, Toby

If you had read my reply you would have seen I described exactly down to the twin wire rods that could be seen when cocking the gun, plus the cat slug ammo that fitted it , Glad that snipper took the credit for my info! Just had a rummage through my ammo collection, found 1 and a half boxes of cat slugs, though they only came in cardboxes of 200 at the time.they have turned white now due to old age.

theres an antique airgun club that meet up at bisley shooting center....they might be able to help mate

  13. I wonder how many people looking down their nose have even help one of these rifles.

The QB/XS is more than capable of hunting on a budget, a bit of wet and dry here and there and they can be very accurate rifles, the only thing that lets them down is the noise and the power fluctuating due to the Co2 in different temperatures.

Like a lot of things you get good ones and bad ones, the good ones will put pellet on pellet at 40 yards.

A few words of advice though:

Chrono it before use, firstly to make sure it's up to power for the job you want it for and to check for power variation for the reason stated above about temperature.

You MUST chrono it if you have altered the rifle in any way, a friends brothers cousin knew some bloke that had a pet monkey that had one that firing at 14ftlb, with the first few shots of a new bulb it was well over that, obviously he filled his pants and made the necessary adjustments asap.

Don't ask me how he did it because I don't know!

P.S When the bulb is low empty it without using pellets otherwise you will get one stuck in the barrel, when a new bulb is screwed in a small amount of Co2 escapes through the rifle and out the barrel, the monkey mentioned above was very lucky the stuck pellet missed his face

i started out with a b4 delux 22, me son a b2 177 and my bruvver an xs19k 22 and for startin guns when on a seriously low buget there ok and in the right hands reasonable huntin tools but you will soon be wantin to upgrade to a better rifle/make

eg.. an xs19 will set you back appx £250 new...for the same money you can by a 2nd hand air arms s200, reasonable scope and a bag ( i know this because thats what i did). the problem with smk is its a case of you get what you pay for there cheep for a reason

    lee :good:

  14. Or try one of the hoppes bore snakes mate brilliant and easy to carry in the pocket.

a bisley kit will do a great job and there relitivly cheep (on ebay) in fact ill swear by bisley products they may not be the cheepest arround but they are good

  16. I bought a walnut stock Lightning XL before the mail order ban and I've stuck the Nikko scope and mount on it. It's got a scope arrestor block so no more slipping scope problems.

The Sportsmatch single piece mount did the trick on the Supersport with the AGS scope but was too long to position the Nikko scope correctly for me.

ill only use bisley mounts, :good: never had a problem with them slipping and they do a good range of sizes, even got an adjustable(tilts up & down) one peice unfortunately it wont fit my s200 with the 10 shot kit otherwise it would still be on there :good:

    lee :good:

  17. Actually I was refering to the gun as Logun not the moderator you have, but my advice still applies though lots of shooters swear by Wheirauch. Whatever you do avoid stuff like the Webley Pro System; there is 'nowt in it (just an expansion chamber with no absorbtion medium or active baffles) and to be honest it's pants.

I can't knock the Logun its my third, never had a problem. I will have a look at the Wheirauch moderators.

I have seen airguns with moderators that look like that they are from a centerfire/rimfire, if they work I will purchase one as I am looking for performance not looks.

    cheers for the response

    Griff :good: :good: :good:
