Guy shot by police markman today. No other details yet though I don't think
If an armed police officer told you to put your weapon on the ground and step back from it .How many of us would be stupid enough not to for any reason

Well done mate merry christmasLast wednesday our local paper,The evening chronicle, ran a story about people under the age of 16 being granted a shotgun license and sayng how disgusted it was that kids as young as 11 could be running round the streets with guns! They then went on to imply that criminals would find it harder to get guns if the police didnt have such a carefree attitde to issueing certificates to people and they should tighten up or even stop issueing them at all! It also qouted the rspca saying it was horrified by the figures and waffled on about swans being shot etc..I was pretty miffed by this article so sent the chronicle editor an e-mail stating that it was full of discrepencies and give the totally wrong impression of law abiding shooters and was obviously written by at the least someone who knew nothing about shooting or the procedure in aquiring a sgc or someone with an anti attitude to shooting.
He sent an e-mail back saying he would look into it...and i thought yea right.
To my amazement i got a letter from the deputy ed saying after reviewing the article on carefull reflection he agreed with me !!.....the article was misleading and he is going to run another article this week based on my letter to put things right...
Just goes to show if you dont complain, nothing would have been done, but cos of 1 e-mail there should be some pro-shooting press, which will make a nice change.
Merry xmas.

as the polish wanted to work later and on week ends when the British lads where off home to see there family's
I think that just about sums it up about the British workforce, they only have themselves to blame.
Unfortunately, this is distorting the situation. The Polish lads don't mind working all the hours God sends, because their families are not here and they don't have a family life here to go back to after a days work. They also have a massive incentive, in that the money they are earning here (which is going back to Poland) is making them seriously wealthy back there, house paid for in a year or so etc.
They are putting up with this level of graft for a year or two, because the dividends for them and their families are huge. British lads don't have this incentive. If British lads start working the hours the Polish lads are putting in, family life goes out the window, and yet they will still not see the kind of financial benefits the Poles are getting back home, because our lads are locked into an inflated cost of living here. Surely, it's not good for us to be sleeping 10 to a room in some hovel, and turning our backs on our families. The difference is, we'd have to do it permanently (for nothing), whereas the Poles put up with **** for a limited time, then go home to a life of Riley (Reilly) - whoever
It's created an entirely artificial situation in the workplace, and whatever the nonce politicians say, it hasn't been thought through properly. I don't blame the Eastern European lads at all, if I had the opportunity to go and get rich in a year or two, of course I'd do it. As a political decision, to allow this level of immigration - it's idiocy.
