what does everyone think about American gun laws
Sniper6 replied to jammy1800's topic in General Shooting Matters
Greenpeace are against whaling because a whale is supposed to be killed instantly by a grenade tipped harpoon. Most linger for hours in the water, bleeding to death or drowning. Thats not humane. Fact of the matter is, theres no way to humanely kill a 100 tonne whale. Not to mention the Japanese hunt critically endangered species. Would you go and shoot some pandas? Have a look at And Greenpeace are a conservation society, much like BASC. And for the record, the idiots ramming whaling vessels are Sea Shepherd, a totally different and unaffiliated group from Greenpeace. See here --> Real Nutjobs The Greenpeace boat (MV Arctic Sunrise) that was tracking the whaling fleet refused to give the location to Sea Shepherd, as they know how bad they are. A quick Google search will bring up the dispute, and how Greenpeace try to distance themselves from them at every opportunity. Please get the facts right before diving in. -

Everyone going to put the toys back in the pram now? And yes, you have a right to disagree, but calling me a terrorist and personal insults isnt cricket. -

I use it for its intended purpose, shooting small animals and vermin. And I need it to control the rats on the farm. Poison causes a slow death, its better this way. Quick everyone! On the bandwagon! -

Not to deviate, but i'm willing to bet that that pic of your AR-15 was taken with a Sony camera, possibly a W5? -

But you gave up a lot of rights after 9/11 without a fight. Patriot act? Arrest and hold anybody without a reason? -

I knew the cries of "Burn the witch!" "Troll!" "He's only new!" would come sooner or later. I do shoot, I am from a shooting family, and i am an active member of Greenpeace, not a "couch warrior! This is my gun I have been coming here a lot and i do like this forum. I do like shooting, and have done since i was young, but there comes a point where you have to draw the line. Stupid, childish comments aside, Its good to have an intelligent debate, but without people losing the rag because other peoples opinions differ from thiers. Carry on chaps. -

And why does she need a gun? And why are you proud of her for wanting an instrument if death? Guns are designed to kill, nothing else. Most of the **** people buy cant kill other people easily. Dont bother feeling the need to read my last post in this thread about bragging rights about their guns/40 caliber Glocks/AR-15s/9mms/M16s etc. Why didn't you just say " my guns " instead of "AR-15, 40 caliber Glock"? Irony much? If he hadn't have had have access to handguns there would be no problem. Its not failures of the system that cause mass shootings, it's failure of the minds of those with the weapons. Therefore, no weapons, no possible mass murder implement, then no problem. I'd rather have CCTV watching me than kids getting shot at school. No. Until you know the intricacies of the law and consequences of taking a human life, you should not have a firearm. And i notice how many extra views i've gained after adding my Greenpeace sig. Interesting. -

Where they would be no use to you if a nasty burglar or terrorist broke into your house? People wanting to own and fire weapons that they have no need for, other than down the pub "oh yes, im just away to fire the 9mm/M16" Evidently not. The harder you make it to do something, the more people want to do it, to be different from everyone else. I'll just go and buy a .50 cal then, which can kill at more than a mile and a half. Need it to shoot rats with mate. -

Ahh, lets not forget about a certain Mr Thomas Hamilton, who gunned down a class full of children with legally held handguns. I'd call America, a place where they believe vehemently in Creationism draconian. Plus the small matter of lives saved. Gun Deaths USA -2004- 29,569 from here Gun deaths UK- 2004 - 51 from here You're giving the power of life and death to untrained, panicky, and possibly mentally unstable people. Bad Idea. Keep the guns in trained hands please -
Have a few more pics on the house Bretheren! Turned out not too shabby at all for a fiver! (plus spray painted jeans and floor)

Used some old Cuprinol woodstain for the shredded curtian bits, and the jute was dyed with some brown woodstain. The actual net is one from Ebay stitched on with 20lb/ft fishing line. The bonus about it is the actual shade of the whole thing is quite neutral, so it blends really well when i tie vegetation from the area into it! Takes a lot of work but its fairly toasty when its cold. Had 6 rabbits and 5 crows with it so far, they actually never knew what em!

Hey Guys Thought id show you my ghillie suit i made from an old DPM jacket, its taken a lot of tieing and stitching an glueing and......work. But its pretty good for concealment, i can get within 10yds of anything before it sees me! Humans included! Flip back hood and face overhang section. Detail of jute tied onto camoflauge net base. Finished (almost) article! What you reckon? Would you see me?
